What does one take upon being invited to a fellow Pagan's home the first time?  We've offered to take dessert this time around, and will probably also take some fruity ciders &/or red wine (the latter having been suggested, jokingly).

This might sound a silly question, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't some commonly accepted thing which one is supposed to bring along which I'm not yet aware of.  It's not a specifically Pagan meet up, it's more around other shared interests like cosplay, and I doubt these friends are expecting us to bring anything besides the offered dessert, but just in case.

There isn't a common thing, don't worry!

If it were a Pagan-specific event, I might suggest making sure that the food you bring is roughly seasonal (not mandatory, but it's a nice touch) but a) it sounds like you've already got that covered, and b) dessert and alcohol does nicely anyway.

I think the biggest thing with visiting other Pagans is not putting things down on flat surfaces that might be altars unless you check. (And obviously don't pick up other people's ritual tools/jewellry/etc. if it's in a public space without asking first.)

Unless otherwise specified, IMO, take what you offered or what was requested. Nothing is commonly accepted in my experience.

Sounds fine to me. I'd take a nice bottle of something  - you know they drink as they suggested wine.

Yeah, none of the Pagan meetups or gatherings I've attended have had any kind of expected thing to bring.  If a specific group/ritual has needs, they tend to let everyone know (we had one ritual where we asked everyone to bring a candle of some kind, and of course we had some extras if people forgot).

Many of our gatherings involve food, it's all potluck, and there is always tons and tons of food, but bringing food and drink to share is always a safe bet!

Sounds like you've got a great idea already.
