So I've gotten into a semi-weekly practice of meditation, but I've found something sort of...odd.

I've tryed the seguestions of playing softer music of the sounds of nature, but they've done little for me. However when I listen to ambient trance or even video game OSTs I sometimes go into ancidental meditation or get more vivid visions.

Has this happened to anyone else or am I the only one?

I'm very in love with video games (going to go into Computer Science and be a game programmer), and I don't find this odd at all ^.^. I love game music. And some movie music too. A lot of it is just fantastic. I like Final Fantasy's OST, as well as Okami's.
I could probably meditate to the Ocean's waves or Rain, but I'm also really connected to water, so it's relaxing for me.

So, no, you're not the only one :D. I do the same thing.

They don't call it "trance" music for nothing, I suppose.

Honestly, I find soft music kind of boring. I basically learned to meditate while listening to Madonna's "Ray of Light" album, which isn't exactly trance, but does have that ethereal electronic sound.

Okami has some of the best game music I have ever heard!

That sounds good, actually. I might have to look into that. Thanks!

Music that I love to meditate to is Dave and Steve Gordon drumming

But for deep meditations, I rely on Chinmaya Dunster's CD, "Yoga on Sacred Ground." It goes chakra to chakra and its just so beautiful to listen to. Try listening to a sample on Amazon and you'll understand.
