* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

How to offer an offering
« on: December 11, 2012, 11:36:29 am »
I have decided to start leaving an offering every day. because the only real daily practice i have is a nightly prayer and i want a way of getting more in touch with the gods. I live in a small flat with no garden, so i have nowhere to bury offerings. I also don't want to just leave them out because they will rot, but it doesn't feel right throwing my offerings in the bin. Any ideas?

You could eat them if your tradition doesn't say yay or nay to the practice otherwise. Or you could offer a small portion of a meal, throw that part away, and at least you haven't wasted a lot.

You could donate all the components of a meal to a homeless shelter or something like that. It can be in honor of the gods.

Or you could do votive offerings. Pictures, songs, poems, letters, and other crafts seem to be generally accepted amongst various deities.
Leave your darkness with me, and I will make you shine.

Who you're offering to and what system of practice in will give you a good idea on how, if not dictate the terms entirely.

A short rundown of some methods: burning, burying, drowning, eating, and throwing away are all legitimate ways of offering/disposing. Some folk leave their offerings out until it becomes inedible and disposes of it then, some only leave it for a short time and consume it later. Some dispose/send it out right away. Offerings may be left at places of power or at your personal shrine or altar. And so on and so forth.

Deities generally have specific ways in which they wish to receive their offerings, and it's generally best to pay heed to that if your system allows it (and if its legal/ethical).
