Does Anybody Have Any Idea What My Dreams Mean?

I had two dreams last Friday night.

Dream 1:

I was in a dark stone room with the only light being the full moon. There was an old woman with graying hair standing beside a cauldron. She told me to look into the cauldron. I leaned over and was sucked into it. I emerged in a little clearing that I had been dancing in mere hours before. This time however, there were faeries, sprite, pixies, dryads, and nymphs dancing with me. We danced for a few minutes before a woman came from the shadows. She was wearing a long black dress and had black hair with violet eyes. Her name popped into my mind at that moment: Persephone. Another woman came from the darkness around us. She was Egyptian with long black hair and bright green eyes. Her name was spoken in my mind as well: Bastet. The three of us began to dance in a circle together, hands joined and laughing under the moon's rays. Then, a moonbeam solidified  ending in the space in the center of our circle. A silvery woman walked down the moonbeam and stood before us. As before, I knew her name: Selene. Gently, we began dancing around her. The Dryads and nymphs followed us. Centaurs and unicorns appeared as well to bask in the moonlight. We all stopped dancing and each goddess spoke to me.

Selene told me that she would help me heal my willow tree. That tree has always been a friend to me and now it is dying slowly.

Bast told me that my missing cat was perfectly fine where he was.

Persephone told me how to live my life: be strong, be kind, love all things, and live with honor.

Each one gave me a kiss on the cheeck before departing. Selene climbed back up her moonbeam, Bastet became a panther and leaped into the shadows of the trees, and the ground opened up beneath Persephone, swallowing her whole.

The other beings quickly vacated and I was pulled back through the cauldron and into the dark room again. The only thing different was that the woman was no long old, but a young vibrant woman. Finally I knew her name: Cerridwen. I thanked her for the dream and we said goodnight.

Dream 2:

I appeared in the desert beside a river with a small forest on the bank. I walked into a clearing, there was a full moon again. And from the moon extended a huge ladder. Angels were climbing up and down the ladder on opposite sides. I stood and watched them for a while before one of them came and walked over to me. She introduced herself to me and we stood in companionable silence for a few minute before she spoke again telling me that "He will be here soon." Another angle starts climbing down the ladder like a monkey even jumping and swinging around his brethren. He lands on the ground and walks over to us. We stand in silence staring at each other and the other angels before saying goodnight. They ascended the ladder into the sky and I woke up.

I want to see if anyone can give me any insight into the meanings of my dreams besides the more obvious aspects. Can you help me out?

From an outsiders stand point it is very hard for us to decipher your dreams, since it is your sub-conscious speaking to you. Instead of thinking about the obvious meaning the women, did they remind you of something or someone in your life; not just how the looked but how they acted? How about where you were, is it somewhere you would like to go, or a place that you absolutely hate? Think of things from that point, look at everything and try and see if it pulls anything forward.

I took a psychology class my senior year in high school and my teacher told us that if we can't come to a meaning the next day separate yourself from it, write it down and then come back to it later; and never ever ever use a dream guide from the internet, they MIGHT be right but that is a general term, if you had a dream about a black cat it  may not mean that "To see a black cat in your dream indicates that you are experiencing some fear in using your psychic abilities and believing in your intuition." but it could just be because that is your favorite animal and that it could actually represent happiness and joy instead.

I would say (at least in the first dream) that the gods were speaking, not just the subconscious. On the other hand, what they had to say was pretty clear.

To be very honest, it sounds like a mash-up of your probable mythological studies. Have you been researching Selene and Bastet lately? Reading about them? Thinking about them? Same with the angels, ladders, fairies, cauldrons, etc...

It's not that I'm skeptical, but you've already stated before that you were ill recently with a fever and hallucinations, and that tends to have effects on your mental functioning for awhile afterward as well. In my experience, it's also rather rare for more than a single other-realm creature to contact you within weeks of each other, let alone all conjoining in a single dream. I could be wrong, that's just what I've encountered so this is just my 2 cents.

I would say to look at your daytime thoughts and interests first, and if that yields nothing fruitful, then break down the characters into what concepts/feelings they represent to you. (ie. violet eyes= other sight, abnormality, etc...; old woman= wise insight into current problems, maybe you fear aging, security, knowledge, etc...).

The problem with dream interpretation is that the symbolism represented is often unique to the individual having the dream, so in the end... it's only you that can really decipher it.

Well in a roundabout way a figured out  my answer. I saw a thread about a thwapping via a dream, so I asked them if  it was true before I went to bed last night. Boy was I shocked when in the morning I felt presences outside my dorm room. It was raining heavily, but when I looked out my windows and doors I saw pink mists. It was seven am, so I figured i was just sleepy. Later that day though, a few choice lyrics from a song popped into my head.

"I don't mind spending everyday,
out on your corner in the pouring rain.
Look for the girl with a broken smile,
ask her if she wants to stay awhile..."

I noticed after returning to my dorm room that in front of my door and out my window there were corners that I'd never bothered with before. It was literally pouring down rain and they showed themselves as pink mists-- for me pink is the color of love.

Just in case it was a coincidence I double-checked using my trusty pendulum and yes, I had been thwapped by all four goddesses at once. I'm completely new to all of this and the actual happenings that led up to the dreams are rather convoluted. Suffice it to say that all four of them seem to have conspired to push me along my path. :eek:
