Could this be a ghost/spirit? Or am I being silly?
« on: July 24, 2011, 01:18:34 pm »
Some odd (in my opinion) coincidences have occurred, but I don't know if they mean anything or if I'm being silly in thinking they might.

I was at an old graveyard a week ago, and I found a grave of a baby who died in the 1800s. She lived to be almost two. Her name was Mary Wigglesworth, and her gravestone was a little statue of a crib. I took a picture of the whole crib, and then I took a close in picture of her name and the dates of her birth and death.

I was very touched by this grave. I felt that, through such a beautiful and unique gravestone, her parents had reached through time to convey their sorrow. I thought about it all day long.

That night, I was lying in bed, and I decided to take one last look at the pictures. They were in my phone, which I had used to take the photos. In an iPhone, you can open to one picture and then use your finger to slide a picture over to get to the next photo. I opened the pictures to the one of the whole crib, which was the last picture I had looked at. However, after less than a second of viewing the whole crib, the picture slid over to the next one, the one of her name and the dates. I slid it back to the whole crib, closed the pictures, and opened the photo to her grave again. Again, it slid over to her name and dates. It was as though an invisible finger was sliding it from one photo to the other. My phone, in the years I've had it, has never done this before. I switched back to the whole grave photo and closed the pictures, then reopened them, five more times, and each time it would slide over to the picture of her name and the dates.

I felt a little strange about it, and I called my mom, who was still up. I talked to her about how I'd looked up Mary and she had died of diphtheria and our last comments before getting off the phone were about how much we appreciate modern vaccines.

The next morning, there were five "new" texts in my phone... but they weren't new at all. They were texts my mom and I had sent back and forth a few days earlier about a friend I have who will not vaccinate her daughter. I checked the day we'd originally sent the texts, and those texts were gone from their original date. My mom called me about an hour later to tell me that the same thing had happened in her phone. (She didn't yet know it had happened in mine).

Since then, several times I have gone into the photos on my phone, having last closed the app while on one photo or another... which normally it would then open to the last photo I looked at... and yet it's opened to the picture of her name and dates.

Are these coincidences indicative of something unseen going on, or am I being ridiculous and reading too much into them?

Thank you for your input.

It's hard to say. But there does seem to be a bit much for mere coincidence here.

It is difficult to say.  There does seem to be a lot there for it to be just a coincidence, though...I think maybe you should talk to your friend who doesn't want to vaccinate her child.  I could just be paranoid (which is probably the case considering my anxiety), but if it is a spirit, maybe the spirit of the little girl who died, perhaps she could be trying to warn you of something?  Your friend should probably take her daughter to be vaccinated or at least checked out.  Is there a particular reason she doesn't want her child vaccinated?  Again, I could just be paranoid, but better safe than sorry, right?

Sounds to me like  something/someone has figured out   how to  manipulate your  phone. It does sound like  there is some  kind of warning  about your  friends child, because  the texts  being  moved on  both  phones is  kind of  weird. is there anyway you can share the pictures you took  of young  Mary's  grave? I'd  be interested in seeing them if  possible.

Wow, it's beautiful.  So sad that it belongs to someone so young.  :(

Very  beautiful pictures. Did you happen to  notice  anything in this picture  perhaps on the grass to the right  of the  crib? The reason I ask is because I was immediately  drawn to the area and  I see something there. I will leave it at this  for  now to see if anyone  else  see's  what I see. If not then  it's  mostly  likely that  my  eyes are seeing things in the  pixels. It's  very  subtle and could possibly   also  be  sun reflection off the rocks too.

I see something, but probably not what you're talking about.  I don't see anything that I would think is supernatural, though.  My eyes are pretty bad first thing in the morning, though.

Well that's  why I asked  if anyone  else  say anything in the picture, sometimes  it's  pixels  or shadows etc. Might I ask  what it is you see?

I can see what looks like a face or skull but it could just be the light and shadow playing tricks.

In the right angle where the edge of the crib and the edge of the hood over the crib meet, I see a slightly roundish shape, but it looks like it's the way light is reflecting off of the grass.  What were you seeing?

EDIT:  I just looked again and I also see a slightly cloudy spot to the far right of the photograph.  Again though, it could be a trick of the light.

That  would be  what I'm seeing too. I agree it could  be light  and shadow  but it's still  an interesting  spot on the  picture.
