Altar Candle Question
« on: January 24, 2012, 03:58:52 pm »
Hello!
I know that I can re-use a spell candle as long as it is for the same spell, but I'm curious on your thoughts as to using altar candles over again.

For example, I purchase a new light pink pillar candle for Imbolc. A month has gone by and I didn't burn all of that pink altar candle but I want to re-decorate my altar and use a different colored candle. I'm sure I can put it away to use again at a late time, but can I only re-use that candle next Imbolc, or can I use it at any time, as long as I only use it for an altar candle? And I'm speaking of just the general working altar candle, not like a Goddess or God candle or a spell candle.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts! :D:
Blessed be,
SkylarB

Unless an item has been ritually purposed for a particular holiday, deity, or use, I'll wrap it up with some tissue paper and store it until I need it again.  If you don't belong to a tradition that speaks on that subject, I'd say go with whatever is most practical or respectful for your particular situation.

I second this. In the absence of a special dedication or a reason not to reuse from the teachings of your religion, I think the decision is yours.
