I mean, if you want to affiliate with the opposite of "that element upon whose chemical properties all life depends" have fun? ;)

;D  I see what you mean - I was thinking in terms of "carbon footprint" etc   ;D

Water, specifically in the form of rain. Ever since I was young, I always had a deeper connect with water. For me it feels like my spirit just becomes 10x stronger, and my mind becomes so much clearer.

Which dovetails with science, in that it recognizes the Earth's dynamic systems as the geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere. (Except that science also throws in the biosphere--all the living things on the earth. Is there an element for that?)

This might have been quite intentional rather than simply serendipitous, for all I know (I'm not well read enough yet to be able to say for sure either way).

Air is my nr 1 - I’m a a Gemini, Mercury is one of the Gods I’m working with, I love information and learning new things

Earth is my nr 2 - I love forests and wild flowers & want to learn a lot about herbs and minerals

Water is my nr 3 - my favorite drink & enjoying local rivers is very soothing

Fire is my nr 4 - necessary in winter but hot & dangereous ... not so much my thing

Do you have a particular element that you'd identify as your element?  And if so, are you able to articulate why this is the case?

I identify most with Fire. My sun sign is Leo, with Sun as my element. I love being up with the sunrise and start to fade after the sun sets. I love bonfires and fireplace flames, where I often scry or fall into a meditative state. I've always enjoyed working with candles and love the idea of creation through destruction.

I am also a forest and sea witch. I need to be as close to both as possible. I like to dip my feet, as it were, into both Earth and Water, but I cannot stay away from Fire.

I am able to use all of them reasonably effectively but my strongest affinity is with spirit and ,to a somewhat lesser degree, fire as well.
I'd say the only one that requires more effort to use/manipulate would have to be Water, but my zodiac sign is associated with Fire so it's not really a surprise.
