This. At least with the Delorean, you end up in the same place you started.

What if I show up in the DARSIT, would that work?

That would be 'verklemmt'.

Not in Yiddish, which is where most Americans get it, actually.  Of course, in Yiddish, the connotations of the word are very different than in the German--it's most often used to means something like "bursting with emotion," in the sense of barely being able to hold it back.

"There isn't a way things should be.  There's just what happens, and what we do."

I remembered the word from an old SNL skit.
You have my sword
And my shield
And my... um... slacks.

Obviously not.  The tardis didn't used to go where it was told to.

I have looked into Beelzebub and the fact that Beelzebub is synonymous with Baal. He was considered a God by the Ancient Semites and was also Worshiped in Egypt. I find it conflicting that Beelzebub is now considered a Demon.

Some things about Ba'al, since you bring Him up: Ba'al was indeed worshiped by the Canaanites, and this worship was retained in early Israel and Judah - thus the polemics against Him in the Bible.  (However, realize that it's genuinely unknown when exactly the references to Ba'al in the Bible actually refer to that deity and when they refer to another.  Ba'al itself simply means "Lord," so any male deity could be referred to as Ba'al.)  Early on, the title Ba'al was even used to refer to YHWH.

Nevertheless, it does seem that Ba'al was one being particularly disliked by the writers of the Bible, and yes, it was the Philistine manifestation of this deity Whose name ended up being corrupted to Beelzebub.  So you may ask: why is this?  Is it because He's really a demon?  The thing is, Ba'al was most likely disliked because His cult was very popular, which obviously was a huge barrier to enforcing monotheistic worship of YHWH.  Ba'al has associations with fertility and protection, both very important things in that time and place, so it's understandable that people were loathe to give up on Him.  There's nothing conflicting about it: Ba'al is only a demon if you're a follower of YHWH, because under those circumstances, what else could He be considered but a demon?

At any rate, if you want more info on the pre-YHWHist perspectives on Ba'al, the Ba'al Cycle, which is one of the few Canaanite myths that has survived, can be viewed directly translated from the Ugaritic here.

PS - Because so much of Canaanite and Phoenician culture has been lost, and because so much of what exists has been badly distorted by Abrahamic religions, I would personally not trust any videos I found on YouTube on the subject.  If you're interested in these cultures, realize that unfortunately you have a lot of rather dry academic research ahead of you.

$7.50 without the disbelief

I got one for free the other day, maybe that's because I have some kind of niggling belief? Or maybe it's because I possess a panera rewards card.. *shrugs*

Was it a small, regular or large?
Really?  So, hey, want to go fishing?  I\'ve got a telescope, and it\'s going to be a dark night, so we should see the fish really well.
...what, I\'m not talking about fishing?  That\'s stargazing?  It\'s all doing-stuff, so it\'s the same thing, right?

Well then it was the reward card. With a little disbelief you might have gotten a large! ;)

The gas station where I grab coffee in the morning has those punch cards where every 10th one is free. So I went to get my free cup one morning and they told me I couldn't get a large. I argued that the 9 I had paid for had all been larges (which the attendant knew since she sold all of them to me) so by logic so should my free one be large. She saw the reasoning to that thankfully.

I really dislike demanding authoritative customers who tell you how to run your job as a retail associate/manager. I hope you at least argued in a pleasant way. :p

Of course I did. I simply said "Since I bought all large ones would it not make sense that I should get a large one?" That was the extent of the entire conversation. This is a small town and every store knows who buys what. They extended that after that to all the people from where I work because there is probably 25 of us that get coffee there every morning. Good for them, good for us. I have worked behind a counter enough that I would have never actually argued it past that had they said it was a policy they had to stick to.

Yay, a nice customer! Doesn't it ever get stifling to know that everybody knows who you are?
