Solitary Practice + Channeling

I'm not a beginner to Paganism or magical practices, but I've hit a wall with my solitary study and practice at a crucial time on my spiritual journey.

I'm hoping some of the amazing minds here can offer some suggestions for continuing to challenge myself and development my abilities and approach to magic further.

I've been receiving a lot of strong messages that I should be leading a more spiritual and magical life than I have been lately. Part of this is pointing to learning more about channeling.

I don't want to take these messages and run off a cliff with them by assuming that I'm "supposed" to become a spirit channeler, but there is some significance in me learning more about.

I've read on it some and there are so many theories and approaches. One consistent factor seems to be, quite understandably, rigorous study on and a strong relationship with the spirit that is to be channeled. I guess I don't have a specific question on this...I guess I'm just looking for some information about channeling and all that goes along with it.

I'm studying channeling, and I'm finding a lot of it is exercises to do in preparation and explanation on how  you can raise your energy to meet Spirit's vibration. I feel like my guide wants to connect with me, so I'm willing to give it a try. I've also got a trusted teacher I can go to if I have questions, so that makes me feel more confident. There's nothing wrong with checking it out. Go by how you feel...if it doesn't feel right, don't do it.
