Oh, I used to call myself an enchantress, because so much of my understanding of magic mirrored that of sound "original meaning" blah. But, it just felt impossible to reclaim whenever part of me was thinking that other people were thinking I was calling myself a rainbow unicorn sugar queen who wears expensive and revealing clothing and hides away in some royal fortress. At least you get more people to echo "witch" who don't mean pointy hats, devouring human children, and flying broomsticks.

Interesting about mystic. I would try to say, "I'm a... mystic" and it just sounded like something from completely outside myself, like something I'd only identify as, to someone who was a total outsider (albeit a curious one.) I should work on being less proscriptive (but I'm still totally calling troll on the OP. Even though, being Rokkatru, I should consider that label unfair to trolls.)

Yes. 'Shiny unicorn syndrome' is currently giving me actual issues with the word Druid (just blogged about it yesterday). Never could identify with 'witch' - in my very-newbie days I thought that made me a bad Pagan. I got over it.

Anyone who proudly self-identifies as a troll and enjoys a life under bridges, while rejecting the unfair princess-eating stereotype, is OK by me. As long they don't demand my money in exchange for crossing their bridges. I don't care if I should be more culturally sensitive, that's my money.

When you said Sage, did you mean Mage? In some cases a Mage & Magi are the same thing. But also can refer to a magician as well.

A practitioner of Witchcraft is a Witch. Different practices, different titles.

I just want to know if these names are just synonyms for a practitioner..

They can be used that way, but some (like sage and mystic) also have common meanings that have nothing to with the practice of magic.

I'm joke a bit. I beg your forgiveness. I will do some research and try to find out what the differences are.

Pfff, I think you got it pretty much right off the top of your head.

A practitioner of witchcraft is usually called a witch.

I don't get your 'Talmud' remark, though. Could you explain? Judaism doesn't have much to do with witchcraft (although there are Jewish witches out there).

Talmud legends that relate to the Kabbalah. What is a Kabbalah practitioner called?

Well I Yahoo searched Sages and came across a question like the once I asked.

A person replied that a Sage is a master...

No one had elaborated on what a Seer is.

You have real problems with using actual, real sources.

Definitely need to use more reliable resources. Somebody on yahoo answers could have said that a Sage is a master of growing sage. Doesn't make it the right answer or wrong. It's like when my students last year where using Wikipedia as sources for research papers, I didn't accept them.

So what are your views of what a Sage is? Geez, do I need to cite? MLA or APA? I feel like I'm back in college for Botany.

Sages from what I have gathered from a library database are men that are used by Kings for hard treacherous tasks. They are not magickal. They were used to transport specialty items such as jewels and fine metals to other kingdoms that were far away, thus making the journey dangerous.
