Reevaluating what I want out of my spiritual life?
« on: August 02, 2013, 09:48:45 pm »
So I've considered myself a pagan for about a year or two now and I feel like it's time to reevaluate what I want out of my spiritual life. The two most prominent paths I've encountered so far are druidry and kemetic orthodox. I haven't looked very far into either of these so perhaps it is simply a matter of looking deeper?

I find that I really resonate with the teachings of druidry. Particularly with Awen and reincarnation. I have sort of believed in awen/experienced it for my entire life, I just never had a name for it and so I feel very close to the concept. I also believe in reincarnation or at least the constant flow of energy. However, I really am not interested in the lore or history of the celts. Furthermore, a sense of community and belonging was lacking in my druidic practice... which is where Kemetic Orthodox comes in.

Kemetic Orthodox sort of filled the "lack of community" hole while opening me up to how to go about polytheism and a semi-regular practice. Kemetic Orthodox gave me the structure and guidelines my practice was lacking. However I don't really feel compelled to practice it, it just doesn't resonate with me like the teachings of Druidry does.

So.. any advise? I do want to continue to explore polytheism but am not quite sure how to branch out. I don't really feel a pull toward any particular culture, however I am completely obsessed with wolves (If that helps).

Thanks for your input!

Georgia

Have you looked into ADF druidry?

You could also try meditating on your question, or using any variety of divination methods to see if you get an answer. You mentioned above that you like wolves, perhaps looking into deities within the two areas of interest you have and see if anything comes out of that. Also try looking into paths that don't have a specific culture attached to them, maybe there is something there for you as well.
