Star Wars

What do you find specifically Pagan about Star Wars? Is it the Force, or the Campbell-style hero's journey, or are you thinking of something else?

Star Wars

As a Pantheist I sometimes say "I basically believe in the Force" as a way to introduce the concept, so I can understand it from that perspective. Also, aren't there people who practice Jediism? I remember reading about that at some point.

While I'm not saying that there isn't anyone who seriously believes in it (as I have yet to interview some 5.8 billion people on this planet alone), I have heard that it was a popular movement among atheists to put down "Jedi" as an answer to government or marketing surveys about religion as an eye-poke at believers.

Come to think of it, I do recall hearing atheists I used to know saying that. I use the whole Force analogy as a self-deprecating comment, to be honest. It makes people laugh and it's an easier way to introduce the concept.

I'm sure there are many more, but this is basically what I had in mind. This doesn't include books like the Giving Tree or the Velveteen Rabbit. What do you guys think? Can you think of examples that stick out to you?

Ι am a really big fan of The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea mentioned above. I look forward to their next film Wolfwalkers wich looks awesome.
