Pagan cruise?
« on: August 20, 2013, 09:13:47 pm »
I went to Ellen Dugan's website to find out more about her and her books and I saw a link to buy tickets to a Pagan cruise during which she will be teaching a class.
Has anyone ever been on one of these before? It was kind of pricey for a cruise (starting out around $550 a person) but considering it just happened last week maybe the pricing is accurate. Anyway I digress...
I was just curious to know if anyone has done anything like this before and what they thought of it.

1- What happened last week?

2 - You'd be paying between something like $100 to listen to her to getting a discount of $50 to listen to her  compared to what you'd pay just for the cruise.  Kind of hard to tell since the Sept 2013 is full and I"m looking at Sept 2014 pricing.

3 - considering what I know about the cruise industry I wouldn't let somebody I really like go on one unless I was sure they could handle themselves.

Nothing in particular happened last week, I just meant because of time of year. I have only cruised in January when fares are dirt cheap; I can't come close to affording to go during the summer.
I loved being on the ship (both times I went it was the Carnival Triumph) but it was a little more of a loud party atmosphere than I would prefer. I'm curious to know if the pagan cruises would have more educational/informational opportunities instead of just being a bunch of elderly people doing the Wobble on deck.  lol

Given the size of the pagan community, I'd suspect that most of the passengers will Not be pagan or interested in pagan stuff. Therefore a bunch of elderly folks doing the Wobble.

I've never been on a cruise, I know someone who does regularly and hasn't had a horror story yet.

That said?

They freak me out. Soo I probably wouldn't be interested lol.

They're not reading the right reports. Or having to live with the rules and reqs generated by the incidents.
