Indeed. He lived a long, creative, and successful life. His work will continue to influence popular culture for centuries! He made it to 95, too, which is nothing to sneeze at, and kept going strong until the last couple of years of his life.
"The worshippers of the gods go to them; to the manes go the ancestor-worshippers; to the Deities who preside over the elements go their worshippers; My devotees come to Me." ... "Whichever devotee desires to adore whatever such Deity with faith, in all such votaries I make that particular faith unshakable. Endowed with that faith, a votary performs the worship of that particular deity and obtains the fruits thereof, these being granted by Me alone." - Sri Krishna

"I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic-book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical careers. And then I began to realize: entertainment is one of the most important things in people’s lives. Without it they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you’re able to entertain people, you’re doing a good thing."

Words to live by. Excelsior, indeed. Thank you for work work, Mr. Lee.

The first comics I ever read were written by Stan Lee and drawn by Jack Kirby. Stan Lee's writing is what drew me in, back when buying a comic book or two was easily done on my $2 a week allowance. I talked with Stan Lee at several comic conventions back in the 1980s and early 1990s. It's hard to believe that was 25+ years ago now and Stan was a "young man" in his late 60s - early 70s. The world (and not just the comics world) is a poorly place without him.

Here's a ten minute video with every cameo appearance Stan Lee made in Marvel movies (including his voice appearances in animated stuff). He may be better know for these than his comics my folks much younger than me.

I'm going to miss his cameos.

He's still got a few coming up.

I just recently started watching the MCU films with my boy. It's been fun to pause and play "who's that guy?" He doesn't yet get what a big mythic footprint Stan left behind, but he will.

On a related note, check out the episode in Kevin Smith's Comic Book Men where Stan visits the shop. It'll have you grinning like a fool.
