* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Airplane crashes over Eastern Ukraine

Short version: an airliner crashed over the Eastern Ukraine yesterday, killing all 298 passengers and crew on board. There is strong speculation that it was downed by an air defense missile, likely from the separatists. Of course, the fighting parties are all insisting they had nothing to do with this and have no idea what anyone is talking about.

Meanwhile, regardless of cause or blame, almost 300 people are dead. One thousand of bread, one thousand of beer and one thousand of every good thing for each of the victims of the crash of MH17. May they ascend. May their loved ones be comforted.

Ditto. :(
The pace of progress in artificial intelligence (I’m not referring to narrow AI) is incredibly fast. [...] The risk of something seriously dangerous happening is in the five year timeframe. 10 years at most.--Elon Musk

I am in the camp that is concerned about super intelligence," [Bill] Gates wrote. "First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent. That should be positive if we manage it well. A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don\'t understand why some people are not concerned."

May their journey into the islands of the west be peaceful.
And may those loved ones left behind on earth find peace.

A thousand of every good thing. May they ascend and be welcome among the blessed dead. May those they left behind be comforted.

Compounding the horror, many on the plane (I've heard the total may be as high as just over 100, but I'm hoping it's fewer) were top AIDS researchers heading to a conference in Australia. So this tribal idiocy, reaching out to destroy the lives of uninvolved innocents passing overhead, may well have set back the fight against AIDS by several years, perhaps decades.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs
