The Arabic language and its non-Muslim usage.

Most people in the US tend to associate phrases such as "Allahu Akbar" or "insha'allah" with Islam, and with radical Islam in particular. This is just... incorrect. These, and other Arabic phrases, are used by Muslims of all types, as well as by non-Muslim Arabic speakers.

In the wake of the recent terror attack here in NYC, where the perpetrator shouted "Allahu Akbar!", comes this NY Times opinion piece:

If only the hurricane that devastated Puerto Rico, leaving American citizens in desperate need of power, food or water, could have yelled, “Allahu akbar,” triggering that kind of tough response.

That's an excellent piece. And the bit you quoted about the hurricane is sadly true. If it had been seen as a terrorist attack, Trump would have bent over backward to provide aid.

My god. Why does the ideology matter so much more than the act itself? Evil is evil, there is no justification to focus only on evil committed by Muslims.
