* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Finally chose an organization
« on: October 24, 2013, 06:39:33 am »
I decided to take the leap and finally begin my path in Druidry. I've been tossing up for a long time which one to join and I decided on the ADF. From what I've read within the DP manual, the it sounds great. I'm not sure just yet if the ADF is the organization for me in the long run but I'm going to give it a good try and see what happens. I'm yet to do any of the rituals but I hope to very soon.

I'm leaning towards Anglo-Saxon as my hearth culture though I'm also considering maybe looking into the Irish pantheon as well. The Norse, Gaulish, Welsh, Brythonic, Greco-Roman, Vedic and Slavic cultures have never really appealed to me.

I still have not ruled out joining another Druid organization, notably the OBOD but I just do not have the $$$ at the current time to undertake their courses.

I'm just glad to have finally made a decision. I must thank you all for your help and input. I really appreciate it. :)

Congratulations.  I'm still trying to figure things out, but it is inspiring to see someone taking the next step forward.

Great! I recently joined too and I'm interested too in Anglo-Saxon, but perhaps I will move to a more Celtish pantheon.

Welcome to ADF!  I'm always glad to see fellow members here on the boards :).  I think the attitude you showed in the quote above is just perfect - I wasn't quite sure about ADF at first either, but doing the Dedicant's Path and just spending time in the organization has really assured me that it is a huge part of my path.

I spent a lot of my DP in a Celtic hearth, and have recently begun branching out to include Anglo-Saxon as well.  It's such an interesting culture!  I recently bookmarked this site which has a huge amount of Anglo-Saxon specific information you might find helpful :).  I also really enjoyed (ADF member!) Alaric Albertsson's book Travels Through Middle Earth: The Path of a Saxon Pagan.  I have a review on my blog if you're interested!

I have read Travels Through Middle Earth by Alaric Albertsson and absolutely loved it. In fact that book started my interest in Anglo-Saxon paganism and culture. It appealed to me in ways that Norse paganism did not. Plus with my ancestors mostly being from the British Isles I can identify with it a lot better. I think it's a shame that the Anglo-Saxon side of things isn't all that popular, I agree it's a very interesting culture.

Before now I had never really had an interest in any Celtic deities and it's only recently that I've been seriously looking into them. How I'm going to combine the two I don't really know. It's going to get interesting.

Thank you so much for the links. :)

I also took the leap.  I'm very nervous, but I just couldn't shake the idea.  I expect it to be challenging, especially since I've been leaning towards Hellenic paganism, which I don't see as nature based.  I just feel like I need this training now to put me in better touch with living life in the here and now.

Everyone who's new to ADF, you may be interested in the ADF group over in the 'groups' section of TC - click on the tab above and you'll see the ADF one.

Welcome to ADF!  I don't know much about the Hellenic hearth, but there's a special interest group here that should have some info; and I'm sure there's a Hellenic kin with a mailing list on the ADF website :)
