Has anybody had involvement with or is a member of the British Druid Order? If so, what are they like? Do the BDO accept students from outisde of the UK?

Yes, and I like them a lot. I think their course is excellent, although I never finished their first level - I started it at the wrong time for me, before I was even defining as Pagan, but I definitely hope to go back and finish it at some point.

No idea whether they accept students from outside the UK, but I expect so. There should be a contact email on their website where you can ask. They're not a big group, and they're very approachable!

Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I've been watching them closely for a while now. Initially researching Druidry, the OBOD did not really speak to me, whilst the ADF struck me as being overly formal and wrapped up in written texts and though that might appeal to some, it just didn't feel "right" to me, so I've been looking for an alternative. I have looked into the AODA but the BDO seemed right up my alley. I'm glad to know they are a descent organization.

I looked into BDO before I joined OBOD and it was a really tough choice for me because I fell in love with them both---but only had money to buy courses in one. BDO is a little cheaper than OBOD but still alot.

You have to download the coursework for BDO though and it's not all at once--they send you emails as to when the coursework is available to you. I don't always have reliable Net access so was afraid I wouldn't get my downloaded materials. OBOD sends packets in the mail so that was the deciding factor for me.

Still...right now I'm planning to do the OBOD courses, and when I'm done I will probably move on to BDO because I think they are both excellent organizations.
