Author Topic: Phouka is being concecrated to Macha (Read 2313 times)

So, after 15 years of Macha kicking my butt to be her priest, I'm taking the next step up from being a dedicant and being concecrated. It's sort of like a marriage but not really. It's happening on March 22nd, and my family (except for my sister who's in AZ for the winter) will be there.

I don't have to be celibate, however if I do date (I'm thinking about it), I will have to be totally honest in any relationship I get into. As in my profile has to say I'm pagan and a member of clergy. I've never hidden my beliefs, but I have danced around telling people since I've been in SC.

In the meantime, I've finally gotten over some of my control issues with negotiation with Macha. She's possessed me side-by-side 2 times now and I'm getting used to it. The first time was to order the concecration and the 2nd to tell Bob (high priest in eclectic Wicca, Voudoun priest and my teacher) what is necessary for the him & me to do on the day. As long as I can see and hear, I can handle the body not being mine for a period of time.

This concecration also fulfills a 2nd degree requirement which is to write and perform a public event. Not only will I be concecrated, I will be doing the Ostara ritual with Bob afterwards. If past public rituals are any basis, there will be anywhere from 30 to 50 people there. So it's very public. We even have a community center. The leader of another coven has created a permanent circle in his huge backyard and it can handle a large group.

Anyway, I haven't started freaking out yet, but don't worry, I will. I'll be in my English Composition I class. I wonder if I can used what I write as part of my written assignments? Hmmmm, I'll have to see.

That's pretty much how I do possession/drawing-down, too, or so it sounds - for me it's 'shared control/volition', not just being able to passively see/hear but that any action is done by joint/merged volition (most often, it's the Morrigan I do this with, but not always). I like 'side-by-side' as a way to classify it - Jenett has, a couple of times, listed off various levels/degrees of possession and none of them seemed to quite fit me, but that terminology does.
