Information Processing - Now with more right brain added.
« on: August 03, 2012, 08:48:33 pm »
I am curious about the different ways people process, seek and find information that involve more right brained thinking. Not logical. Not rational. Not reasonable. But probably fun! I am thinking more individual experiences and not along the line of the most common divination methods because the information might not have to be divined, just accessed differently.

I'm putting this here because if someone has a way that others can experiment with, it might help in building a mystery. Perhaps we can all meet in an otherworld for example.

Here's one of mine as an example.

When I was in the single digits Lady Elaine Fairchilde began to frighten me a little. She is a character from Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood of Make-Believe. Cranky and ruddy.

I did and do get very irritated when I sense I am supposed to be afraid.  So I used a method I still call "pulling" to haul Mr. Rogers to a spot I knew well so I could ask him  what was up with that strange lady.

The process is for me to relax my body but not fall asleep, envision the spot in as much detail as I can, and then pull a person to that spot. They often come and sit like breathing mannequins, but they will interact if I prod them enough with questions or make crazy things happen.

For Mr. Rogers I had him sitting in a lawn chair in my childhood back yard. He was relaxed but interacted like he was sedated. I petted his hand and asked him about Lady Elaine. He told me that she was a toy and for learning and that he was her voice and he would never let her do anything to hurt me or anyone else.

I was satisfied and sent him back to wherever he really was and continued on with my day happy to have the business resolved.

I watched that show sometimes twice a day for years, so I am certain the credits rolled by my eyes several times exposing me to the fact that he was her voice even if I wasn't consciously aware of that information.

What I've found interesting about this method is that it permitted me more direct access to the answers I sought when I didn't even have a solid question.  He was her voice. I trusted him. That's all I needed to know and Lady Elaine was no longer a troublesome character for me.
~~~ End of that business.~~~
In summers my mind is allowed to wander to the right as much as it likes, so I have wondered if this pulling and/or other things like it, might be adaptable to access even more information, and in a super wonky proposition, even to share information with others.
So, do you have any methods peculiar to you that help you process information effectively?
