Sisters of Mercy, followed by more Sisters of Mercy, in an attempt to purge Gregorian's version of More from my brain.

I... oh my.  Did not know they'd covered that one.

It's pretty bad.

Funny, I just listened to Floodland the other day. Talk about "good old days". Jeebus.

Currently listening to some doc about a PA Dutch "witchcraft" murder in the 1920s. It's pretty neat.

I feel the necessary ... growl for that song is not compatible with Gregorian's approach.  Um.  (Maybe "Marian" would do better?  I dunno, I'm dubious about the washing machine music in general for Gregorian.  Tempo if nothing else.)

(* for "washing machine music": way back in the dark ages, spouseperson was listening to probably A Slight Case of Overbombing when we were chatting on the phone and the way phones strip sound meant I said, "... are you... doing laundry?"  Just listen to only the drum track on "This Corrosion" now....)

It's true... and now I can never unhear that.

It's pretty bad.

Now that's an understatement.  I don't mind some of Gregorian's stuff, but that is just not the right song for them.

Speaking of covers, I'm now listing to Disturbed's Sound of Silence.

Edited to fix link issue.

Always a good choice.

Currently listening to Gary Numan's album "Savage: Songs From A Broken World" and wondering how I missed this one when it was released.

As the title says, what are you listening to right now? :)

Listening to the new album by a very old online friend that I met through magic of the interwebs at the beginning of my Pagan Path.  It is some great music for those chill nights around the fire or some self-reflection.

So I am eclectic in my choice of music. Sometimes Classic Rock, sometimes Alternative, sometimes Electronic music. I will also listen to Ambient New Age stuff on occasion. Lately I am listening to Goth Rock stuff. It is kind of witchy.

I remember when the movie The Craft came out. I thought the sountrack was good. I remember going to a local occult bookstore and the guy there noted that after the Craft came out a lot of baby Goths would show up at the store wanting to cast spells. Anyway  music has strong associations for me.

Great song.

I am listening to Oye Como Va ft. Carlos Santana & Cindy Blackman Santana | Playing For Change | Song Around The World on YouTube.

"Be Yourself" by Frank Ocean, off his Blond album; he took the voicemail message his mother left for him before he went off to college and set it to background music. It's hysterical, esp. to anyone who has a Black mother (it could be any mother, really, but the delivery will be instantly familiar to anyone who's heard a Black mom lay down the law).

Because remember: "When people become weed heads, they become sluggish, lazy, stupid, and unconcerned"!

The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

"Be Yourself" by Frank Ocean, off his Blond album

"Perchè Tarda la Luna?" from Puccini's Turandot, (a dumb opera, IMHO, but with some beautiful music). I'm making like I'm summoning the full moon that I'm waiting on my roof to watch rise.

From the time stamp 2:37

I'm making like I'm summoning the full moon that I'm waiting on my roof to watch rise.

On recommendation from Sunflowerp, Hope Eyrie (originally by Leslie Fish, as far as i can tell).

There are a great many feelings going on right now, but the most prominent one (and also the one that's going even a little bit into words, even if I'm borrowing some of them from hir) are "oh look, it is a hymn of my people."
All knowledge is worth having.

I have recently been fascinated by the Hu (a Mongolian metal group). So much so that I read a book on Genghis Khan  ;D My favorite track is probably "The Gereg".
