If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

What is the latest movie you've seen in the theaters? (As opposed to popping a DVD/video cassette into the machine, catching it on cable, downloading and watching on iTunes/other subscription service.)

Did you like it? Dislike it?

Cowboys and Aliens.  It was way better than I thought it would be.  XD
<3 Rest in peace, Christiana. I love you so much, and I miss you like crazy already. At least you\'re not hurting anymore...May you ascend. <3

Cars2 with the family. The reviews were poor (plot, what plot?), but I just took it as a James Bond parody and thoroughly enjoyed it. :D: Eldest thought it was fun, youngest lost interest about halfway.

Double Take

Only managed to catch the second half, but it's a documentary-esque look at the Cold War, told through snippets of Alfred Hitchcock presents and interviews with his double. It's very interesting because throughout the Cold War history (specifically Khrushchev and Kennedy's political machinations) the two 'Hitchcocks' draw analogues with America vs USSR. Kind of hard to explain but it's a really interesting watch and has a style too, with some satire thrown in as well.

Just saw the Conan remake.  I thought it was a lot of fun. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE dialog and acting at times, almost to the point of it being a B movie, yet somehow that added to its charm.  I was hoping it was not going to be a mirror image of the first but with better special effects and thankfully it wasn't.  The plot is similar to the first, but there are tons of differences.

What're the effects like? I like fantasy movies mainly for the sparkly firepower. :p

They were pretty good.  I'd say the movie was impressive from a visual standpoint, I really enjoyed the scenery in it.  Not as epic as a Lord of The Rings, but better than I had expected.  It seemed like there was enough to it that if they wanted to there is a lot of potential for sequels.  I did wonder if I may have missed something having never read any of the Conan books.  I might have to go back and check some of them out.

It's largely a fantasy movie with more sword fighting, mystical lore, and brutal violence than magic and sorcery though.  All though that most certainly was present, it was certainly not the focus.  Rose McGowan played a great creepy witch.

I think this could have been a good movie in it's own right, and not just a remake that trusts people will see it just because of the name.

It's a get popcorn and enjoy this movie.  No need for cheese - the movies supplies more than enough of that at times - almost painfully so.

Thanks - you sold it to me when you said 'Rose McGowan' and 'witch' (Charmed ftw!). :D:

I guess I'll have to disagree: it was way worse than I thought it was going to be. Then again, I really should have guessed what the movie was going to be like with it's cast. NOT that I think any of the actors were bad, per se. Just bad writing. And plot.

Like really? Gold? Seriously?

"The Help." I took my 14yo, who really wanted to see it anyway; I'm pleased that she's so interested in the whole civil-rights era. Go. See. This. Film. (I also hear that the book is even better; now we both want to read it.) We expected to cry a lot more than we did--and that's not a bad thing. Powerful performances (OMG Cicely Tyson is still an amazing actress!) from everyone in the cast.

Saw Apollo 18 the weekend it came out. Not what I expected; my impression was Blair Witch Project meets NASA. (Not that I've actually seen Blair Witch Project, but I remember some of the hype, and the discussions after folks had seen it.) One thing I will say: don't take kids to it.

Saw Contagion last night. Not bad; it struck me as a plausible plot line.

30 Minutes or Less. Kept me entertained and amused for most of the movie. Although with Danny McBride in the movie you can expect the usual crude, oftentimes disgusting humour as well. :/

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 on opening night.  It was awesome.  I went in costume as Sirius Black since, with my facial hair, he's pretty much the only character whose look I can pull off.  Favorite part was Neville with the Sword.
