Am I the only one who seems to think these last few episodes have been somewhat "boring" compared to the rest of the series? Maybe it's just me?

It's a different kind of storytelling at the moment, circling around individuals or pairs as opposed to a group.  More time for character development-- I personally really liked the ep with Daryl & Beth in the country club, seeing Daryl lose his cool.
I'm pretty sure the writers are letting everybody 'catch up', and then they'll hit us with another whallop.

Exactly. After that epic mid-season finale (I was screaming at the TV screen; my husband--who doesn't watch the show--was wondering what the hell was going on in the next room), the characters and more importantly the viewers need to breathe. In the process, the show's writers can invest us anew in the characters and their evolving predicaments (for example, Carol and Tyrese, together again...but he doesn't know...!), setting us up for the next crazy climax.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

The March 16, 2014, episode: Carol, Tyrese, Lizzie, and Mica. Holy hell, that was one brutal episode...and incredibly well done.

Yes! Best episode in the second half of the season. It was gut wrenching and brutal, but they did the episode very well indeed! Lizzie was one crazy little girl!

Absolutely!  We just sat there in shock after it finished.

Been in training for the new job all week, and I only just finished watching the latest episode.

You're right... incredibly well done.  The way it opened, with the shot of the teakettle, and the slow-mo leftward crawl to the kitchen window, set to "Maybe".  At first I was chuckling, because it reminded me of the opening sequences in the Fallout games.

Wasn't chuckling for long though.

Brutal?  Jesus Horseradish Christ.  Yeah.  Best of the season though, imho, and contender for best of the entire damn series.

That was incredibly brutal last week. This week we finally saw Terminus...who else was excited? Except to me, I'm thinking this will be worse then Woodbury! It seemed way to calm and quiet for a "sanctuary" ... and for that matter it seemed less guarded and protected then the Prision. I'm happy that Glen and Maggie are back together...but I'm still sad because Beth is just missing and I think her and Daryl were having a great connection!

My thoughts exactly. Any place in the post-zombie apocalypse world that lets armed folks just walk in to be greeted, eventually, by a lone unarmed woman--Denise Crosby (a.k.a. Star Trek: The Next Generation's Tasha Yar), no less--has something funky going on.

I'm happy that Glen and Maggie are back together

Best part of the episode; that, and the fact that our scattered clan and their scattered plot threads are beginning to gather together again.

Worst part: I couldn't quite piece together the sequence of events after Glen and Tara got in a jam in the tunnel. The storytelling was fractured to heighten drama, but for me the pieces didn't fall together afterwards like they're supposed to with that kind of fractured storytelling. I have no idea how Maggie et al ended up with the army guy et al, or what the alleged scientist saw at the other end of the tunnel that had him freaking out and tipped them off that Glen & Tara were in trouble.

Yes, I love it, it's my all time favourite TV show.

I don't get to watch it when it airs as we don't have the right channel, so I'm always behind (so no spoilers please).  But I have seasons 1-4 on DVD and if I don't get season 5 pre-ordered for me for my forthcoming birthday then I will pre-order it myself.

Season 1 will always be my favourite, but I've enjoyed all 5 seasons on their different merits.

Also looking forward to the premier of Fear this summer.

Me too - both of them actually, the episodic one and Survival Instinct.

Goodness, no-one's posted in this thread since 2015?  Did people keep watching the show up to the last season (no spoilers for the final season please, I'm still only 1/2 way through it!)

Anyone watching the spin offs?

I think I watched seasons 1-3 of Fear, and I keep meaning to go back to it and continue watching.  I've yet to watch World Beyond, but again I plan to.
