Not much anime, mostly only manga. Sailor Moon, Escaflowne, some Inu-Yasha, and Gundam Wing (Heero, et al.), Dragonball Z (and it's various incarnations) was pretty much all that I watched.

I love Escaflowne! As well I enjoyed all the Gundam series, but Wing and G Gundam were the best!  Dragonball Z was awesome, however I did not enjoy GT except for the Goku Jr. movie.

Is anyone here a fan of anime?  I love it.  One of my favorite series is Chobits.

I'm a big anime fan - I couldn't begin to list everything I've watched. My top five favorites, in no particular order, are probably Paranoia Agent, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Cowboy Bebop/Samurai Champloo (I can never choose between them!), and FMA: Brotherhood. And FLCL. And Ergo Proxy. And...

I was a long time ago. I doubt many would recognize any of my favorites from the 1980s.

Aw, give us a try. I bet I'd at least recognize a couple.

I found Darker Than Black bizarrely hypnotic.  The world was dark as hell, the main character was an assassin - and I LOVED it.  There's supposed to be a sequel released in the States sometime this year, and I can't wait.

I loved Darker Than Black! I can't wait either. (Also..."collarbones." ;) )

Otakon! I love that convention. Just be prepared- it's huge. Drink plenty of water!

I'm not going this year, sadly, as the budget is too tight, but hopefully next year! I'll definitely be at Katsucon in February, though, and possibly Nekocon in November.

Thanks for the tip, Juni.  :)  I've got my walking shoes ready and will remember to bring my water bottle too.  Have fun at Katsucon and Nekocon, they look like a lot of fun from their websites.

I'm with you on Miyazaki and Bebop, for sure.  Evangelion I really liked until the last two episodes, and those two ruined the whole thing for me.  (And the movie that was supposed to "fix" them later was no improvement at all.)

I'm a fan of Evangelion as long as I block out those last couple of episodes, I hear ya.  What a great series, it's a shame it was such a disaster at the end.

Yes, I'm a very big fan. It began with Tenchi Muyo! for me back in the mid-90s, and I've watched a whole lot more since then. Recent anime favorites for me are Ghost in the Shell SAC, Maria-Holic, Toaru Majutsu no Index, Kaze no Stigma, and X. Previous favorites were Slayers, Bleach, Death Note, Trigun, Fruits Basket, Hakkenden, Nana, xxxHolic, and Macross Plus.

I've been to two AnimeExpos and a FanimeCon, but never really got into the cons.

I'd also add Trigun and Samurai Champloo to the list, and sometimes depending on my mood maybe Witch Hunter Robin or Outlaw Star.

All these with GITS and GITS:2nd Gig. Also, I really liked Tenchi Muyo. I was okay with The Big O and Gundam Wing, but that was more the husband's shows. (Not a Dragonball fan, although the husband liked them.)

The Ghost in the Shell series get my number one spot.

I watch a ton of anime even the bad stuff on Netflix. Currently, I am being bugged about finding the next season of.. Queen's Blade I think it is called.

I bought Queen's Blade on dvd at Anime Next convention [in New Jersey].  Two dvds, actually.  The first 12 episodes and another QB dvd.  Haven't watched it yet.

I love anime even though I havent watched so many series :P The series I have watched are Elfen Lied, Death Note, Ergo Proxy and just finished Soul Eater (I also watched Pokemon and Digimon, but that was when I was younger). I generally prefer animes with a dark theme and don't go on forever i.e. Naruto, Bleach, Pokemon.

Anyone got a suggestion for a new anime I can watch? Preferably in the style of those I have watched before : )

Have you tried either of the Fullmetal Alchemist series?  I enjoyed them and even my husband, who isn't an anime fan, really got into it.  They don't drag on forever and the plot gets pretty dark and dramatic.
