Pagan Music
« on: November 09, 2017, 02:40:13 am »
Does anyone have favorite pagan music they like to listen to? I haven't posted in the listening thread yet, but I probably will. I also looked in another music thread down the row, I was surprised I didn't see Faun listed! I also listen to Blutengel when I'm in a dark mood, or need to visit a dark mood for inspiration. This is especially helpful when I need inspiration when writing, and Blutengel is actually uplifting for me when I'm depressed. Faun on the other hand is very uplifting if you can handle listening to music in a different language. I actually prefer it, because I focus on the energies and the music and the voices.

Uh, let's see, this is very old forum software... hmm... where's the video deal... Huh. Well, you can click on the links. First one is Satyros, by Faun, second is Kinder Deiser Stadt, by Blutengel. Both are German songs. I really need to visit Germany someday.

I've been REALLY digging Inkubus Sukkubus lately. I only recently "allowed" myself to listen to something so blatantly Pagan, and I'm a little mad about it because I feel like I've been cheating myself.

Interesting; why do you feel like you've been cheating yourself? I will check that group out.

Well, mainly because it's really good but I refused to listen to anything that outright criticized Christianity for... reasons I can't fully articulate, honestly. Mental purity or some shit. Pushing that aside opened up a lot of opportunities.

Never been on a forum that nitpicky before. Must be why it's so slow here.

Criticism is good. I think we should be self-critical as well. Not in a negative way, but continuously seeking self improvement. There are certainly some valid criticisms that can be launched at Christianity, but anything can be criticized, really. I enjoy Blutengel's tongue-in-cheek approach to nihilism.

RisingMoon,

If by 'nitpicky', you mean, 'expects people to read and follow the rules', yes, we're nitpicky - and we're not about to change that because you disapprove; this approach has served TC well for just a hair short of 20 years, which is downright ancient for an online forum. That twenty years also means we have a particular culture and way of doing things that works for us, so we encourage you to read the rules and read through past threads to get a better feel for TC's forum culture.

Another of our rules is, 'DO NOT argue with, comment on, complain about, criticize, or otherwise discuss staff decisions on rules issues in public in Cauldron community areas.' You can, as the last paragraph of the quote reminder stated, contact a staff member privately to discuss any issues or questions you have about a staff decision... but you decided to respond publicly to that friendly reminder, and did so by being snippy, a much more serious infraction.

This is your first strike. Further violations of TC's rules can result in you being temporarily gagged or permanently banned, or other restrictions placed on your account and posting abiity, so I strongly suggest that you read them, to ensure that you don't break them inadvertently.

Then just ban me now, because that's a fucking imbecilic rule and exists for no other reason than for you to go around posting big blocks of text in red because it gives you a power trip. I really can't stand people like you. So please, ban me.

RisingMoon,

Just for the record, the rule about not arguing staff calls in public existed long before I was even a member of TC, much less on staff. So, nope, it's not there for me.

You now have a second strike, for making a personal attack (on a staff member, at that) and for deliberately flouting our quoting rules. A third strike will result in a temporary gag - probably one week, possibly two. Note also that TC's Host, Randall, may decide on review to apply a gag, or a permanent ban per your request, immediately.
