I'll need to see whether he ties up the plot neatly in the last book

My prediction: Since Dany has lost control of the dragons, Bran is going to warg into them and use them to destroy the White Walkers at the critical moment when winter finally arrives. The End.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

Is anyone else semi-addicted to this show and/or books? It's a phenomenon in my workplace, 90% of the staff watches every new episode the day it airs and has either read, or is reading, the books.

I've already read all the novels that have been released (barring the Dothraki language book and the Encyclopedia of Ice and Fire).

Any other fans floating about?

Yea it's filmed here, and I train with a regular extra who's an archer in the Knight's Watch lol.

All caught up, and eagerly awaiting the next episode!

That is very cool! We're going to visit King's Landing (Dubrovnik) soon. :)

The end of last night's ep (Season 5 episode “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken”) has a lot of people pissed off. I'm mostly getting bored (my objections to the current direction previously described, above) and exhausted by Sansa's permanent doormat status. But some folks are seething:

We Will No Longer Be Promoting HBO’s Game of Thrones

Though I read this in that article:

"Rape here, like in all instances, is not a necessary story-driving device."

Um...what? As someone who wrote a story in which a rape was THE central, necessary, story-driving device, this is just a dumb thing to say.

Oh dear. I'm a huge fan. My best friend refuses to watch it anymore ever since a certain canine had to be "put down" in the first season. He just said 'F' that. Moral of the story, nothing is sacred with Martin. That's one of the attractions for me, nothing is taken for granted. The good guy/girl doesn't always win or even live through the first season. I've been hooked for a bit.

To the fans out there; who do you think Jon Snow's parents are? I don't buy Ned. I actually think it could be Rhaegar and Lyanna. But I had a theory the first season or two it was Robert...now, however, i'm leaning toward Rhaegar and Lyanna. Thoughts?

There was also rape in the first season.  I'm curious as to why all the outrage over this scene, and why now.
