* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Film reviews

I was watching Hansel and Gretel- Witch Hunters last night and, after I had finished rolling around crying with laughter, I though it might be fun to have a film review thread here. One that has opinions but a MINIMUM of plot spoilers- more of an overall critique. I thought it might be nice to have an idea of what is good and bad about a film that people recommend and to get other people's opinion on them.

Hansel and Gretel is supposed to be an action horror film with some black comedy elements. If you want something serious with a little humour in places, this film is not for you. It is hysterically funny! The script is awful with language and props that really aren't period accurate (AT ALL), but the comedy aspect more than makes up for the inaccuracies. Jeremy Renner truly shines through though. He really is good at laughing at himself- there is no other explaination for being able to produce that dialogue with a straight face. Gemma Arterton plays Gretel very well (considering what the script demands) and the two leads bounce off of each other brilliantly.

But, for me, it was the Witches that made this film. I've not seen anything so funny in years. They are tackier than the vampires in Van Helsing, and that is fairly impressive, but they pull it off in such a way as to be well worth watching.

However, if I heard the word Sabbath instead of Sabbat one more time, I would have screamed. Whoever wrote the script REALLY didn't do their homework on Witches, AT ALL! There are a whole lot of inaccuracies you have to try to ignore. The plot is thinner than tissue paper, the dialogue is awful, the weaponry is about as historically accurate as an AK47 in the Stone Age, and the costumes aren't exactly period specific either.

But, overall- I loved it. It was a truly terrible, cheesy, tacky film, the sort that I love to watch to just have fun watching a film. Best watched with other people (have a few Witches there too- it will have them in stitches) that just want to chill and have a laugh.

Let me know what you think of this film, and any others that you feel like reviewing/ discussing. :D:

BTW, I am not responsible for any brain melting that may or may not result from watching this film. Just sayin'! :whis:

One thing I did not understand was, why they did not put their vocation, and what happened to the first witch, they knew together.

I guess that would have involved talking about it and, as Hansel said, it was one of the  things they NEVER discussed.
