Also true of the Boston area inside 128, as I understand it from my geology classes...

I didn't realize it went that far up.  I always recalled part of CT and RI I think because my geology class used to go to the different area's as part of the lab portion of the class.  My professor even asking to keep one clump of rock I found that wasn't native to the area.

There's been quite a lot of change: I did some looking at public Pagan stuff in the New Haven area when I was looking at a job there (and my brother lives in New Haven): the public stuff I found made me raise my eyebrows a lot too, and I can understand why Juni wasn't crazy about it. (A lot of what I found was, for example, both much more commercialised than my preference, and/or much more "let's do what feels right" form of eclectic - which works for some people, but is not a thing that works for me.)

That's to bad.  Things were pretty well concealed back then and difficult to get into a group.  I wonder if things were more open would the drastic changes have taken place that it appears did occur.

I've gotten the impression there is other stuff going on - just that it's very much not showing up in the public space conversations very frequently, which is part of why I suggested some passive 'keep your ears open over a longer period of time' stuff.

I wonder some times if the rumors i've heard of fam trads and older covens going back underground were true but it seems as if it might be.  Following more of a shamanic inspired pathwalk means the coven and group scene is no longer for me so I haven't kept close tabs on it.   But still if you keep your ears to the ground they can still be found.  Ironically though that takes it back to the old days when you really had to seek and prove you were worthy of being taken in or trained.
