What in the world is up with my body?
« on: August 02, 2019, 01:01:46 am »
Hello, so I won't to start by saying that I wasn't sure where to put this. Bear with me, it's all strange, but quite interesting.

So, I've spent a good portion of my years searching religions and myths for any clue to what makes my body act so differently. I started with doctors, and now here I am. Lol

Since I was young, my grandmother was adamant about my noticing what was different about me. She told me for years that I was descended from a long line of wise witches, that I was the first male first-born in her bloodline in seven generations, yada yada. Now, I believed these things until I did my research and disproved her lies.

However, my entire life, I've naturally been drawn to magic. Since the first time I heard the word, it seemed like the only thing in life that was true and natural.

So, my disproving of my grandmother only served to create more questions.

As a child, she had tried to 'teach' my mom, but she feared herself and wanted nothing more than to give my grandmother the metaphorical finger. So, my mom ignored her and her calling to magick. Limiting my interactions with my grandmother only led me to believe her, but as I got older I realized the falsehoods. Now, my issue is that there are a lot of things that don't make any sense if I'm not from a magical family.

Emotionally/internally:
Forever drawn to magic.
A natural affinity for nature and the moon, especially.
Precognitive
Natural medium
Natural clairvoyant
Always aware of things that one shouldn't know on ones own(claircognisance)
Empathic
Ability to tap into divine wisdom
Specialty with spirit guides
Internally feel female, physically male, drawn to the balance over reconciliation.

Physical:
Green eyes that changed colors regularly until I was 12
Impossibly soft skin. I do not take care of it!!! I actually went to a dermatologist for it because it worried me that everyone I knew used things like scrubs and lotions, whilst I remained babysoft from head to toe. Turns out, my natural oils are drastically acidic and it somehow keeps my skin soft and keeps it from becoming dry and flaky.

I oxidize most metals. You know how you get a green ring from fake jewelry after you wear it for a while? Yeah, I not only get it almost instantly, but my skin eats away at all but a few metals. I tarnish or completely destroy all fake jewelry I've worn. I tarnish gold into an ugly yellowed color, and I've actually broken down a couple of rings completely.

One came off my finger while washing dishes. White gold is only made more beautiful by whatever my skin does. Sterling silver looks polished the longer I wear it. I turn pewter completely black if I wear it long enough.

I have strange reactions to medications. I.e. I have a direct opposite effect from xanex than it's intended purpose.

Caffeine calms me down. Just strange little things.
Lactose intolerant at 14. I know, not that strange, but still!!
Skin glistens in sunlight as if covered in glitter. Not all of it, just my hands and feet.
Able to make my hands and feet sweat on command.
Oversized pupils, can dilate on command.
Third nipple.
With the pointer finger of my dominant hand being the only exception, my finger prints are all the same exact design, and each hand mirrors the other.

Now, I know this all sounds random, but I've been to doctors that we're perplexed by what they were looking at.

One final thing, then I'll move on. My grandfather passed when I was young, so I never got to discuss these things with him. However, I do know for a fact that most of my physical anomalies were inherited directly from him. My mother also has a third nipple, but the other traits were lost in her.

I want to be clear, I don't think I'm some kind of magical being that belongs in another world. Honestly, I'm just hoping that someone will know something about these things, or maybe even have them in common and know all about it.

Regardless, thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for all of your help!!

Blessed be

Now, my issue is that there are a lot of things that don't make any sense if I'm not from a magical family.

So, personally, I believe that pretty much everyone has the potential for magic, like pretty much everyone has the potential for music in some form. However, I also believe that it's something you have choice about, and that people will have different parts of those things that they may choose to develop, or choose not to do anything with. (And of course, in both cases, some people have a lot more opportunity to develop skills or abilities than others.)

In your case...

Many people have psychic abilities (i.e. being precognitive, clairvoyant, etc.) and many people find themselves drawn to the things you're drawn to. Some people are trained out of it or discouraged by society or people around them, but - well, there's lots of people on this forum and elsewhere in the larger Pagan/magical/etc. communities who do those things, like those things, etc. For me (and a number of other people), it's a lot more about what you do with that that's interesting.

On the physical side, obviously, working with doctors would be the best for anything that's of concern - but a lot of people have some odd skin changes or other effects. (I have a college friend who destroys any watch she wears for more than short period of time, for example).

On the medications - the reaction to caffiene and stimulants is actually pretty common to people with certain kinds of neurodiversity (specifically ADHD, but sometimes also other things.) Not the most common reaction, obviously, but not that uncommon either.

Lots of people have other physical quirks - I again approach it from "Is this causing problems?" (in which case, figuring out what's going on is worth some more time and effort), or if it's just a personal quirk. From what you write here, it's really hard for me to tell which it is for you.

I don't think any of this necessarily means you're better or worse, or more or less magical than anyone else - again, I'm big on "What's interesting about what you're doing with it?". If something helps you better live your religion or spirituality, or act on your goals or passions, or help people or better the world around you, that's a lot more important than the personal quirks.

So. What are you looking for here? Other people with similar things? Ideas on what to do with the skills you have?

I appreciate your response! I guess mostly it feels like these things must be for a reason, and I've always felt driven to answer any questions that present themselves.

I never really get to talk about these things, as my family and I don't spend much time together, and my fiance doesn't exactly enjoy the idea of the unseen. In our years together, he's come to accept it and listen, but getting an honest and thoughtful response would be virtually impossible.

I think I'm here for the chance to communicate with like minds. I really enjoy the topics posted and the vibe going, so I'm looking forward to it.
Thankfully, I've been developing my abilities for years. I used to read for clients, and made good money. But, I didn't enjoy the feeling I was left with afterwards and I drifted away from it. Now, I mostly just use my abilities with my guests to really wow them. I'm a server these days, and you'd be surprised how much this skill-set helps.
I guess I've come to the recent conclusion that my spirituality is suffering. Perhaps by attempting to fish out my own spiritual and supernatural qualities, I was hoping to find a deeper connection with them. Either way, I do think being a part of all of this will help. :)

Thank you!!
