What's the craziest thing someone's said about your path?

For Paganism in general...I'd say anything that can be found in a Chick tract. :) (My personal favourite is "Dark Dungeons").

For Vanatru, I've heard: "People say they're Vanatru just to get dates." (I've also heard the same thing said about Wiccans, in particular). IMHO, if you've joined a religion, any religion, to get dates, ur doin' it wrong.

I have two instances to relate:
at work in a cafe..."trapped" behind the counter.
having an innocuous pleasant conversation about tarot cards...when suddenly the lady beaks off and says you shouldn't use them because you know that the voices talking to you through the cards are demons!
O.o
I was caught totalyoffguard and kinda tried to deflect the comment back to sanity...because I couldn't just leave....but her husband actually came up just then and took her by the elbow and said okay honey time to go.

second instance:
working at a cafe run by born again Christians ,they would hold bible study classes near closing hours of the cafe in store.
just this one teenager aspiring preacher...who " heard the voice of god" on a regular basis apparently and would teach one or two folks in depth stuff from passages of the bible.
he came up to get a coffee from me,I had black normal cut hair, black shirt and cafe apron and my Mexican days of the dead skull necklace on.
I served him pleasantly ,nothing was said about anything except here's your drink, enjoy, money exchanged, thank you ,smile...
he looks me up and down before leaving with his drink and says point blank

"Jesus can help you with that."

I was so infuriated! how rude!!!???!!!
just WTH was he refuring to?!
helpme with what?!

I honestly dont recall how I replied, but I freaked out at my boss later on.
and he sez to me,well yknow,he hears from GOD so maybe he was just relaying a message or maybe he had a reason for saying it,you never know.

he totally didn't know why it upset me so much.

in neither of these instances was my religion or beliefs brought up before hand.
I don't wear any symbols of my religion or what not to places of work.
also in neither of these situations was I able to react as I really wanted to these affronts afflicted on me.
remember that everyone in the world, when you choose to chat with folks in their place of work!!!
I totally felt trapped and insulted.
I wasn't at liberty to just walk away from these situations, nor speak my mind....the shops weren't my personal businesses,I was representing for my boss right? so I can't chase away customers.
sigh.
Ize bel zafen.
Ize bel daleen.

Reincarnation can help you with everything.

(I got fired from a coffee shop job for getting into an 'exchange of characters' with a customer who had a habit of leaving me Chick tracts as tips.)

I do what I have to do to get by
But I know what is wrong, and I know what is right
And I die for the truth in my secret life

This (and a lot of the other replies to this thread) bring to mind this SMBC comic:

It's become my mental image go to when people say those kinds of things to me. Makes it a little easier not to overdo my own response...

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.
