And yet yesterday, it was - to quote my mom - "Colder than a witch's tit." Ugh.
LOL

Here it's the first decent spring day with sun and bumble bees. :)

I heard we had some nice spring-like weather this week. The most time I got to spend in it was about 30 minutes between getting home from the hospital and getting back to my research paper. Now it's back into the 50's during the day and close to freezing at night.

I know for people in more Northern climes that sounds like spring, but here in VA it's cold. This time last year my car was yellow with pollen, this year hardly any trees have bloomed yet. I'm guessing pollen season will be bad once it warms up because nothing will stagger, it will all be at once.

Any signs of impending spring yet where you are?

Massive rains, about a week ago, in this here lil armpit of SoCal. Now everything is growing in earnest and the ol' allergies ain't happy.

86 yesterday. (That's 30 to you folks in yon igloo country. Yeah, you, with your thermometers that read like 'alternative facts'.) Today it's 84. I usually wear shorts (even when it's in the high 40s, which is 'freezing' to us). It seems Winter has lost her grip in this part of the world.

I live in Kentucky, so I can't be sure (there were snow flurries flying just last week) but I think spring has sprang here. The air is warm, there are flowers blooming, and insects abound.

Endowed with that faith, a votary performs the worship of that particular deity and obtains the fruits thereof, these being granted by Me alone." - Sri Krishna

And just beside my balcony - in reaching distance - there's the top of a young tree, and at the tips of its branches are nubs that, on close inspection, are distinctly greenish. Though still very tiny and very tight-furled, they are indeed leaf buds.

They remained that way for quite some time, but just in the last, oh, maybe a week, became less tight and more definitely green rather than just greenish. Now they are unfurling (and greening more), gradually but the difference is observable from one day to the next, or even from early in the day to later in the day.

I adore my balcony - though where I live now is more inner-city than my previous home, it's in a neighborhood with lots of trees, and the flora and fauna do their thing mere feet away. I go out onto my balc and it's right there; it'd be harder to not observe it than to observe. Urban witch paradise!

Volunteering at the Galveston Railroad Museum today for their model train show...this is the kind of day people barely dare to hope for when they come to the Houston area! Low 80s, gentle breeze, no humidity, not a cloud in the sky...I told our museum director that while I didn't know who he paid off to set this weather up, she's worth twice her fee!
