Right Wing Pagans?
« on: December 02, 2017, 07:34:13 pm »
Are there any other right wing pagans here?

Either far right or moderately right wing.
I am an alt-right Pagan!  Not looking for debates, I don't think my race is superior I just think that everyone should live with themselves alone.  However, the internet is a place for everyone of every creed.  I am into bodybuilding (GETTING MASSIVE GAINS EVERYDAY BRVH) and I love conlanging (Bee meen freend in ConWorkShop meen næm is Advark!)

Yep. Used to be far right, but more moderate these days.

I assume you mean by US standards. Your liberals seem right-leaning in many places.

Also, the meaning of terminology is complicated, isn't it?  "Right-wing" is typically considered synonymous with "conservative", which is a word that I do connect to, for example.

If conservative means a skepticism of novelty, high value placed on tradition and continuity, a preference to put trust in established systems rather than develop entirely new ones, a desire for evidence-based policy rather than hope-based policy, caution in implementation, and a dedication to preservation of established value to pass it on to future generations, I am extremely conservative.

If conservative means "the tribal affiliation that calls itself conservative", I am not.

I'll own up to being 'far right.'

I know its been over 120 days since last reply, but it not dragging it from page 2 or anything.

I find myself as deeply conservative.   Of course, it depends.  I might be far right in most pagan circles, but a moderate in Kansas.

Since this thread has been "necro'd" and is active again anyway, I am going to say something I meant to say a while ago and never did.

You see, I consider myself traditional, and my stance on several major issues is, indeed, "conservative" in the modern political sense. However, philosophically, I consider myself a classical liberal, and I fall in line with modern "liberals" on a fair few issues as well. I suppose you could call me a "centrist" though that's a term I don't normally apply to myself.

In my own, personal life, I tend to stick to tradition very tightly. I dress conservatively, I speak conservatively, I don't use drugs and rarely drink, I don't swear in public, and I generally try to keep myself respectable. However, I support the right of other people to live however they wish, and I don't think government or any other organization has the right to police how people dress, who they marry, what they say, what they eat, or what their beliefs are. (Or, for that matter, what consenting adults want to do in the bedroom). Some people would say that makes me left-wing, while others would probably say it makes me right-wing. It just depends on who you ask; are you asking American Liberals, international liberals, American Conservatives, the Alt-Right, Marxists, or some other group?

If you are asking ME, and I had to label myself, my response would be that i'm a Classical Liberal, with some conservative views. Most of my rural Kentucky friends and family think I'm a radical revolutionary bleeding-heart liberal, while most of my college friends think I'm a right-wing NRA supporter. I think they are all narrow minded and obsessed with labeling people.

I own a gun, and support unlimited gun ownership. I also support women's' right to an abortion, support social programs for the poor, and support gay marriage and transgender rights. On the other hand, I support the military, support polygamy (which neither "wing" really likes), and I am a strict vegetarian. I support women's rights, support gender equality, and support racial equality and integration. I am a staunch advocate of free speech for everyone, with no exceptions, even for groups I disagree with such as Nazis and Stalinists.

So, am I conservative? Am I right wing? Am I liberal? I don't know, and I don't really care. You can decide what you want to see me as. I don't fit into a neat little box.

Endowed with that faith, a votary performs the worship of that particular deity and obtains the fruits thereof, these being granted by Me alone." - Sri Krishna
