Past lives are tricky things I believe.  But what is a past life at times to me has proven more difficult to figure out.

Your whole post was very interesting...  I wonder if that's why I feel completely "at home" whenever I see pictures or experience things related to Finland even though I've never been there...But much of my family is from there.  I sometimes feel like I experience memories from there from the 18th century and before, which is when my ancestors would have lived there.

I believe the soul does have an age, similar to bodies, but much longer depending on the person. I believe this because I do not view time as a line, but as an ether. Either way you look at time (line, cyclical, chaotic) a person's essence could have existed prior to this current life, but simply needs more time than just one life to learn all of the lessons and make the changes it needs to make.

This is just what believe of course, but, I do think what happens in past lives does affect the current life because either a person failed to learn lessons in those lives, regressed, or maybe learned those lessons but still have a few more to learn. There is no PROOF of course, but there rarely is when it comes to this sort of thing in my experience.

Some people do, some people don't. You have to start somewhere, I've met one or two people who this is really their first time around.

I think most people are not here for the first time, but are not necessarily able to access their past lives. Personally, I think that after a certain number of times coming back, some people start to think 'wait....I've done this before'.

Eventually, these people become aware of their past lives, and are able to step out of their current mind, that relates only to this physical presence, and access their 'real' mind, the thing that is part of what is carried over each time.

I've got a whole lot of carryover from past lives. One of my friends dubbed me 'beloved of the psychopomps'.

I suppose I have specific memories to a point, I can find them if I start to look, but it's more skill sets and personalities. It's all 'me', but 'not me' at the same time.

I just have no indication that -I- have had them.  It's a very interesting topic... I mean, knowing what you were in a past life could greatly impact your spiritual journey in this life.

I feel like I'm rambling, and that I'm a bit depressed at the moment.  So many people have experiences with this and I never even had a hint...

Puppydangerous,

I know this is going to seem like a minor nitpick, but could you please put your reply under the quote.  It is not just for uniformity (although that does make reading easier) it also lets the reader know what/who you are replying to before reading the reply, which keeps the thread making sense when read in bits and pieces, which is usually the case as people check new posts, rather than read each thread from the beginning every time there is a new post.

Thanks,

Marilyn

If it will make you feel better, it's not really a run-on sentence. It is, however, a very complex sentence with many dependent clauses.

Well done.

Thank you.  I get a bit lost sometimes trying to say what I have to say without hurting people's feelings.  (As opposed to when I don't care - then the words flow and the sentence construction tends to be very precise)

Biological Memories / Ego

That was amazing, Mosnoleedra!  I thoroughly enjoyed reading your explenation(I hope it's your own.)

If these dreams or visions of past lives are biological memories from paternal and maternal lineage DNA is absolutely freaking amazing even more.

As far as I can tell in mine I've usually been the same though.  Perhaps I'm just dreaming normally but the most vivid ones seem like a memory and even feel like it.  I've seen myself in a knights armor fighting another man that was also in armor.  He had long blond hair and I have short hair.  I mean we were charging at each other screaming at the top of our lungs trying to kill each other over and over.

Another I was in Scotland wearing a kilt and had long hair.  Not sure what my role was I was just strolling through a town.  Definitely a soldier of some sort though.

An additional one I was in Greece of all places and I was training Spartans it looked like.  It was definitely me which is odd.  But I was definitely in charge of this large body of men and everyone was watching me and I wasn't even speaking while I was coaching them they were duplicating my actions.

So going from Greece to Scotland is odd.  I am of Scot/ Irish lineage.  So the first two weren't alarming and happened more than once.  That last one happened only once and was the most intense because I was a frightening dude, more than a knight of celt warrior.  I'm capable of being a frightening person but that was the absolute bottom of what I can be.

The Military runs in my family all the way back to the origin of our Clan name to my knowledge.
Crazy stuff, talk about ego.

Hmm..  That explaination seems to really click with me for some reason.  I -have- felt that my "real" mind is somewhere else and my current one is always too preoccupied with my current life.  Not that that's a bad thing, since I should be focusing on this life anyway.

I had an ex-gf that always thought she was an old soul.  I didn't feel this from her and I rarely meet people who I do feel that are ancient in a way.  Like the way I felt with my Grandfather and Father who I think both were extremely old spiritually.  But my Mother thinks she is an old soul to but I do not feel she is actually older than me but far younger in spirit.

Old souls tend to be a bit grumps on occasion or just 'morose' to a lot of things, politics and the media for instance.

ITT: That ex-gf was a trifling ho bag.  But I knew, there-fore she was temporary.  PK & Intuition ftw.

Yeah its definately my words and understanding of it all.  Took a long time to come to some sort of terms with it and figure out what I was seeing and at times feeling.  I was luckly in that I happened to be speaking to my mother about some things one day and discovered that facet.  Then to expound on that and discover old diary entries that supported the other with my gggrandmother.

My sister's have made mention of some things as well that they "Know" but don't know.  But the conditions have to be right before we all get together and actually sit down and speak of it.  I have a younger brother though I have never heard of him mentioning anything, unless its to the youngest of my sisters who he is very close to.
