healing the self
« on: November 03, 2011, 07:37:21 pm »
hello everyone greetings to all :)

Okay so I have a situation, lately I have been very down. I have been saying things like "I dislike myself" or like just really beating my self up. It all started when I watched my favorite movie, and it reminded of a person whom I use to have feelings for. Now randomly I dont know why I have feelings for him, and they have a girlfriend. (also they are the oppisite sexual orientation as me) I have been upset and I cannot control my emotions and they are bringing me down. when I try to think of other things they come into mind. I dont even know them that well of a person, and I randomly have feelings. I dont even know why I do, but they always haunt my thoughts. I need this to go away, I want to become my self again, and not have to worry about crushes. Do you have any spiritual advice I can take to make these thoughts disapear. Also I always run into them and then get all sad, and I dislike that. So thank you and blessed be :)

I don't have spiritual advice, but I have advice in general!

Some lifestyle changes that may help improve mood are:

- Getting some sunshine
- Exercising
- Eating well (fish oil has some studies to back it up as a mood booster)
- Getting involved with a passion,hobby, friends

I do daily affirmations as well. I'm really prone to being depressed. I have positive notes on the bathroom mirror and I tell myself positive things out loud. On my mirror I have written,"I believe in myself." And I'll say certain things three times in a row such as,"Every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better". Daily affirmation are good for after you meditate (if you do that kind of thing). It makes you feel a tad silly at first, but you're trying to reprogram your subconscious thought.

I also used to have a very, very unhealthy obsession with an ex. I tried to take my own life, lost tons of weight, pulled out hair, could barely sleep. It was pretty awful.I'd lock myself in my house and drown in my misery. Simple things like the stuff I listed did help. It was a slow process, though.
