I''ve been doing a little research on this but from what little I could find the definitions were confusing and vague. If anyone could shed some light on this, maybe with any personal understanding of the Law of Microcosm and Macrocosm, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The idea of microcosm and macrocosm comes from Qabalistic and Hermetic philosophy.

They refer to the correspondence between the universe within (of the self) and the universe without (physical universe).

The macrocosm is the greater universe of the physical world, planets, solar systems, galaxies, etc.

The microcosm refers to the universe of the soul including the elements and planets that make up the individual.

The magickian must understand all parts of himself.  He thus meditates and contemplates the various elements and planets of his own nature.

These include the elements: fire/will, water/emotions/creativity, air/intellect/communication, and earth/body.

Once the magickian has started to understand the 4 elements within himself, he may then start to understand his greater causal nature of his spirit which is expressed by the 7 planets.

The 7 planets represents the different parts of the mind.
Saturn: The God self, the boss, discipline.
Sun: higher self, holy guardian angel, super consciousness.
Moon: subconsciousness, personality, receptive to the other 6 planets.
Mars: war, work, motivation, will.
Mercury: the intellect, reason, logic, math, science, language, conscious mind.
Jupiter: fraternity, higher love, compassion.
Venus: romantic love, emotional consciousness, subconscious.

The more conscious you are of the planets and elements within you, the more conscious you become over the physical world because you also become conscious of what is not you.

The idea of microcosm and macrocosm comes from the hermetic axiom:
