Initiation

Rae Beth's book 'Hedgewitch' was one I picked up many years ago and found interesting. It is rather Neo-Wiccan in many ways, especially in relation to the cycle of the seasons and the relationship between the Lord and Lady, but it is worth noting that not all hedgewitches will follow the same deities. I tack the 'with Neo-Wiccan leanings' at the end of my hedgewitch 'title' just for clarification purposes. I will not pretend that my version of hedgewitchery will be the same as somebody elses.

This is the first book that I have been reading, and what I am going to do my initiation with.  Just waiting for the full moon.   It makes me feel very positive that someone else has read it as well. It seems that she writes very enlightening books.   I plan on praying to the great horned god due to the fact that I have dreamt of him as well of often seeing him in my meditation.

In my opinion, you don't have to, but i have always found doing a self-initiation to be very affirming

I agree with this in a sense. I had an experience where I set an intention and it happened.  So I learned then that I didn't necessarily need to have an initiation to set a very strong intention.  I just have to feel it with all of me.  But I want to honer my gods and to things the proper way to dedicate my path and bless it as well.  Thank you so much. You have made feel a lot better.
