Glamour difficulties
« on: July 18, 2019, 07:17:59 pm »
Ever since I've been practicing magic I've personally found glamours to be the most challenging. For many years I've been wanting to make use of them, but my efforts usually fall flat on their face. I feel like my energy is kind of off. If there's an aura about me, I get the feeling it's murky or bloody for some reason. Despite the fact that I try to cleanse and purify as much as I can. Perhaps this is also affecting it? I grew up in an unhelpful environment, to put it mildly, didn't really learn proper social dealings. I know my body language is kind of weird, too. So there's a bit of resistance there(not to mention my social anxiety). When I've spoken to other folks who have magical dealings they've noted that my energy seems "compressed". I've been wanting to incorporate glamours to help me polish my social skills and carriage- but also to "soften" the effects of this weird vibe I have.

As someone who isn't neurotypical, I'd just like to at least appear to function "normally". Not in a Norman Bates kind of way, mind you. But I just want to be able to blend in a bit more or positively stand out. Especially since I'm going back to work after chronic illness and I'm going to have to network and the whole lot. Typically, I call upon Venus for this kind of thing... but at this point, I'm open to suggestions of anything. Perhaps there are other aspects I need to focus on beforehand?

Would appreciate your suggestions, comments, or insights on this matter.

This isn't something I do myself, but I do know a few that do so instinctual. It really comes from within and how healthy you are physically and energetically. I personally would really work on grounding and loosening up to help expand your aura a bit. Watch or listen to anything that makes you feel good or even laugh. I wish you well in your pursuit.

I'm wondering if a glamour, per se, is the thing that's actually going to help the most here.

First, if you're feeling murkiness, do you have a regular psychic hygiene practice? How does it work for you? (By which I mean the kind of stuff noted here) If you have a chance to work with other people, they may be able to help with ideas for the methods in this article.

Basically, the better cleaned out you can start on this kind of stuff, the easier it is. Then you can poke at trying different aura techniques (both for what it feels like to you, and for what kinds of reactions you get.)

Stuff I've explored along these lines includes: expanding my aura (more personal space), compressing it (more welcoming, but people will likely get in closer to you), or turning it colours (for 'I want to be approachable, and have people find me easy to deal with', I'd go for a medium blue, personally, but rose-quartz pink, or a nice blueish green are both possibilities, for example.) Basically,  fill your aura (and shielding, if you're doing that) with that colour (or if you're like me, and not a visual person, a sound or sensation or whatever other sense data you want to impart.)

I also think a lot about what I need/want any given day. I mostly aim for 'pleasant, amiable, approachable in professional senses' at work, but if there's a big day with a lot of social stuff or a big meeting, then I'll turn up the focus a bit. I often use either a small amount of perfume oil or a piece of jewellery or a small thing I can carry in my pocket, depending.

It's not so much a glamour, per se, as a 'drawing attention to the parts of me I want people to focus on'.

That makes sense. I bet the low energy and such is a huge turnoff, but I never really thought of it that way. Naturally, I find that people are more inclined to be around someone with a more invigorating or stable energy. I'll certainly be looking at grounding(and auras) more in-depth. I remember seeing someone on here talking about song and dance as a way to clear or purify a space before- but it's finally clicked with me.

Thanks so much, Klaw. Prosperity and wellness to you.

I get really obsessed with certain things and forget to see the forest for the trees. One of the reasons why I want to work with glamours is because I feel it will bring me closer to Venus and that I'll be a better representative of her if I can hone my usage of them for positive workings. Additionally, I've been fascinated by people who could just "switch" that stuff on/off. On a more functional level, I want to have an edge on social dealings...but perhaps this isn't the best thing to use right now...

I can most definitely say that my psychic hygiene routine is lacking. I do some clearings once or twice a week and a purifying bath every few weeks. Been having trouble balancing university/life kind of stuff. My spiritual practice is something that gets put on the back burner too often lately. After looking at the links you've provided, I ended up trying out some of the techniques and found a few that worked for me quite well. Helped remind me of things I've learned so far and then some!

For some reason, I've neglected aura workings as a core skill. Have found that my aura is usually a large amount of space, I tend to want lots of personal space. This combined with the low energy... can see how it would give an unwelcoming feeling. Fascinating stuff. Infusing one's shielding, as well! Interesting. This has been very informative!

Thanks again, Jenett! Gonna experiment with this as I go forward.

I had another thought. My husband does this on occasion, like when going to a job interview. Use colors in you clothing to help others see you in a beneficial light.

Where are you pulling the energy from?

F'ex reflective surfaces like snow, ice, gemstones, etc. carry easily accessible static.

Drawing on a non tangible association might just be wanting too much of your energy to work the association and the glamor.

Maybe using a sensory source, touch, sound, sight, might clear the murk.

Fex the drive soundtrack.  24kt Magic...   ;) Get polished.

I'd do the advance prep to simplify later.  Battery up with a charged object.

It's easier to redirect a stream than build one from scratch.  Less draining too.
