Closing an Energy Healing
« on: December 05, 2018, 02:03:49 pm »
I am mostly a faith healer.  I have mostly worked only on close friends and family members.  I have not closed a healing.  Ever. I have had this gift for at least 35 years.  I am aware that a persons healing can continue after initial contact with me for a period of time.  They can feel it at night or when they are at rest for days sometimes.

If I do a full body healing and there is an area that needs lots of work, I get fatigued or physically uncomfortable holding my position and it still needs more work, so I continue on to the next area knowing the healing will continue in the areas needing the most work.

My mother-in-law had much training and she closes off her healing sessions and does things differently from me.  However, she concedes that her guides say I do not need to change my ways.  That my ways work for me.

If I heal for someone outside of a family member, will they become frightened or disturbed by my not closing the healing?

Also If my Mother-in-law insisted on working on one of my children with me and she closed them, it bothered me.  I made healing contact with them after she left so their healing from me would continue.  I do not like closing a healing session like that.  I don't do many healings so it bothers me not at all for it to continue.

I suppose I could explain up front to people I don't close it off and they may feel it for a while afterwards and see how they feel about it?

Explaining what you're doing up front to people (how you work, what your options are) is the way I'd go. It's ethical, it helps people make more informed choices about their healing, and if something feels weird to them later, it will help them figure out what's going on more easily.

Personally, I believe in closing off at the end of a working because I don't want my energy wandering off after people without my knowing what's going on. (I occasionally have negotiated exceptions with very close friends, but these days I'm unlikely to because of my own health issues - I just don't have that much extra to spare and can't afford a slow drain, even a small one.)

Some of this is also style of working, and what works for different people. Expecting people to use a style they're not comfortable with usually doesn't work very well.

I'd agree with the above.  I'm a little surprised to hear that healing can be left open-ended in the way you described, I'd have assumed that this tended to be closed off at the end of a specific, timed session as a general rule.  If someone I trusted was prepared to do a healing session and leave it 'going' I'd be very grateful!  But if, as you asked, you're thinking of doing this for someone outside of your family/friend group then I feel it makes sense to be explicit about what they can expect beforehand.

Thank you so much!  I do so few healings, its never bothered me.  I would learn to close it if I had more people to work on I'm sure.  But yeah, I always tell them they may feel it off and on for a few days.  One of my daughters says she only feels me for about 10 mins afterward, but she is the one having trouble feeling the energy.  I am hunting a crystal for her she is supposed to wear for a while to help her. Danburite.

The other one feels it after my healings but she feels her guides healing her off and on pretty regular so it does not bother her.

But even people use to faith healings at their church sometimes commented on how long they were feeling it.  They didn't mind, but liked to be forewarned.  I think it could spook someone that does not have guides poking them on the regular.

I have a similar experience in my own healing.  I also generally don't do a lot of healing/energy work with others outside my immediate family (and the last I can remember has been years ago due to a bad experience in connecting with someone), but with my family I am super close.  My personal experience has been that I make strong connections.  I mean, seriously strong.  And that's okay with my immediate family, but with those who are not I can feel a steady drain unless I staunch the flow.  Of course, I'm also very empathic and am used to getting blasted by all sorts of emotions and negative energy from people other than myself, so have been blocking for a very long time.

Being connected for healing can also mean being connected for backflow as well, so I would strongly caution to consider shutting down healings with those outside the family.  Or if you choose not to, try to be in touch with your guides to know when it's safe and when it's not to do so~  And of course, trust your own instincts!  ;)

On a side note, coming from a background of church's that do faith healing and laying on of hands, I'm surprised anyone would even mention being "forewarned".  Generally, the work being done, the healing, is the priority...  Granted, I did go to tiny, tiny churches!

Well, they joked it was how they imagined a trippy LSD flashback must be.  They'd be doing something and then they'd get that tingly lightheaded feeling and feel the healing of my guides.  I told them to stress to them to wait until they were not busy or doing other things.  I think my guides were having a little fun with them.  Mostly it is my guides who work on them after I finish up.

I nap and think of the person needing healing.  I am not tired or drained, but taking the nap seems to free up my guides to go work or something.  Perhaps my much smarter higher-self is actually helping.  They tend to be okay with me just going along with things and not studying it too much.

At their church the healers think they can only heal at church.  That I could heal them in a tobacco field during lunch or a Huddle House at 2:00AM was different.  I was promised the gift for praying for the soul of another as a child.  But the gift came to me through my aunt who was studying Reiki when I was in the fourth grade.  When I passed it to my daughters, my guides said my daughters needed no attunements to do master level Reiki work, all they needed to do was practice and learn.
