Note: This total is updated manually, usually once a day

* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Spellwork and action
« on: December 05, 2015, 04:37:34 pm »
To my understanding, a very basic aspect of spellwork is that it must be followed by action.  Meaning that if you cast a spell for good health, for example, one must also follow through with actions that would promote good health.  What about spellwork after action? Such as spellwork after applying for a job, for example.

Heck yes and kudos to your teachers!

Too many people think just casting a spell makes it happen without you doing diddly.

I wrote an entire chapter or so on this in SpellCraft Secrets.

Magick acts by the easiest possible route. That's one of the reasons people attribute "magick" to "probably coincidence" because like water, it flows in the easiest channel.

As such, when you want to make your magick work, you need to create lots of easy channels for it to flow into.

So using your example of good health, you'd consider any places where you had health challenges. You'd stop doing anything that contributed to complications.

"Good health" is a big direction, but let's say you're diabetic as an example.

So you work on balancing sugar intake. You research about all of this. AND you do magick. And doing the magick makes it MORE LIKELY that you'll be able to balance your sugar, but it won't fix it all by itself.

Totally different example, let's say you want to do magick for a better job. If you don't put out your resume how do you expect that job to come to you? Someone just shows up and says, "I need you for X job?" While it's POSSIBLE, it's not LIKELY.

Magick is about enhancing what's LIKELY.
When given a choice between black and white, choose purple.

Yes, I've had luck with that very topic. A lot of time I purposefully do, because I struggle with getting stuff done, so unless it's a spell to motivate me, it makes more sense to do it just after than to do it possibly several weeks before. That said, it also just happens sometimes, like if I find out after the fact that my partner got a job offer (or asked for a raise, or conversely, is worried about layoffs).

The Qabalah teaches 4 worlds (corresponding to the 4 elements).
The intent of the spell must be wanted (fire), spellwork would be acted on the world of creation (water),  a good attitude (air) must be maintained, and on Earth (physical world) you must apply for the job.

Spellwork after? You could reaffirm your desires, but mainly it´s your output in other ways is what is more of a major presence

Same principle.

If you apply for a job, it generally takes some time for someone to review your resume.
Any type of ritual or spellwork will still be helpful.

Basically, it is always important to keep your intent in mind.

Or said differently: always focus on what you want while acting to make it so.
