Cards Pendulums and Energy Healing.

These are the things have kinda worked for me.  My pendulum just tells me whatever it feels like telling me if I ask it questions.  Its like it wants to make me happy and doesn't bother to fact check itself.  But I can assess chakras with it.  It will spin and I can see I have balanced and corrected the Chakra in need of such things.

Well, I thought this would be a cool way show my sister Chakras were real.  I could hand her the pendulum and she could feel them spin the pendulum.  Proof, easy peasy!  That is so not what happened.  Pendulums are dead to her, I mean Dead.  A demonstration is not the same as feeling it.  Why isn't anything easy?

I confirmed her right palm chakra was slowed down, but she wouldn't let mojo it, or check and balance her chakras.  But I think might believe there is something to that now.

With cards, they are spooky about always giving the right cards in any reading. Saying the same thing with different cards, same cards turning up like bad pennies.  The pendulum says cards work like this for everyone and pendulums do not.  Is this true?  I don't trust my pendulum.

And sometimes in a reading I use my pendulum to try an assess the meaning of a card in the spread.  It seems to be working with honestly there, but its so untrustworthy when cards are not involved.

My lapis pendulum just disappeared.  My amethyst pendulum refused to help me locate it.  I think it is because I am supposed to have a family outing with my mother-in-law and the lapis allows me to speak things they'd rather I not say for the sake of the day.  They swear it will turn up.

I need advice about using a pendulum with a card reading considering my troubles with them outside of chakra work.  Should I?  They seem okay and like me using the cards.

Part of it is me.  The pendulum said it would not help me get the lapis back.  I used paper to list the rooms of the house and the pendulum selected a room.  I used a paper and wrote the area to search.  The pendulum told me where to search.  Nada.  I did a reading about my outing with my mother inlaw shortly before it disappeared.  I ordered a new pendulum, but I put it away to keep it safe.  I thought of making a necklace from some lapis beads I have.  I "heard" "Do you want to loose that too?"  So... But they said my methods of searching are sound and would work on things they agreed to help me find.

I mostly need help figuring out if a card is referring to a certain person.  Or if something deceptive shows up and I want to dig into the matter.  If the cards say I don't know something, I get nosey.  The pendulum said I should consider its comments on the reading an educated opinion, not a hard fact they have checked out.  Basically, they can read cards better than me, they are not looking into the future for me.

They said they will be helpful with me learning the cards.  I guess I will use it but only in practice while I am learning.

Different people have different skills - and different interests! I was talking about this with my current witchy students last class (we were doing an intro to divination, including pendulums) and about how different methods will work better for different kinds of questions, and for different people. And that's normal and okay.

(I also feel really strongly about letting people decide who gets to work on them magically whenever possible.)

My experience is that multiple readings on the same topic are not a great idea (clarifying a few cards is fine, but multiple readings on the same thing in quick succession is not.) I also believe that most of the divination methods tell you what is most likely to happen if nothing in your behaviour or choices change - but the simple act of doing a reading can change things, since you may be thinking about the issues or choices differently after!

Similarly, I think that effective pendulum readings depend a lot on well-framed questions. (That's part of why my tradition teaches it as a first divination tool: it helps you learn how to form questions for other tools well too, and it's easier to do a series of questions over a period of time pretty quickly without needing to learn a lot of new information like Tarot or astrology involve.)

I know a lot of people who find specific tools (including pendulums, but also other kinds) work great for them for some kinds of questions, but not others. Or that certain decks work great for certain topics, and are lousy for others. Some of this has tendencies across people, but sometimes it's highly individual.

Yes, I gave the pendulum a hard time over searching for a lost object because I misread where it wanted me to search.  It took me to the kitchen trash can and the item was not in there. So I went to the trash can outside and it swore it was in there.  A mini food processor was being tossed because the blade was lost, but not the tube item for food saver.  Later I found the blade but had tossed the food processor. I found the tube in the pantry by the kitchen trash can months later.

I have used pendulums since I was a kid.  There was toy one at my grandmother's. I can just take a necklace with a pendant and use that.  Most of my life I have not had an actual pendulum.  We are getting reacquainted.  I had a psychotic break 14 years ago and I really spent a lot of time ignoring my guides.  They were always there, but I did not listen much.  They would chat or help heal me if I asked, but it was not constant chatter I was use to.

I have been able to do energy healings since I was a child.  Most of my family does not believe in such things, so I didn't get to practice much.  Almost all my work there has been on myself or my children.  Since it was not part of being a Baptist, it was understood that I would keep that to myself.  My grandfather was a doctor and he let me work on him.  He believed in me. 

Everyone else was busy trying to convince people there was not something terribly wrong with me. Autism, bipolar, add other freaky to it and that was me! "She is not weird, she is perfectly normal!  Stop picking on her!"

I have told my sisters what I can do, but they ignore it.  They never take me up on a healing.  Rarely I will offer one to someone outside the family.  They rarely take me up on it either.

I want to use a few different types of cards and it is going to take a while to learn them. My sisters also use herbs and things to help people.  I have found they take this kind of help.  So that is what I offer most people.  I try to figure out why they have the problem and give them the simplest solution to help them.  It could be recommending a food, a vitamin, a supplement, and herb, a doctor, a clinic, a med.  It's deceptively simple sounding.  If they do it, it helps them and they think nothing more of me for having recommended it.

I have a bunch of medical issues that can be made worse by people dumping energy on me, or unbalancing things further, and I've had people try to press the issue and have it go badly.

(This is part of why I'm so insistent about consent here: I can't see anything else that's ethical or actually caring and kind.)

I also believe that people will be open to things at their own pace for their own reasons. There is some space for adjustments, especially if someone is actively open to change, but forcing it when they're not usually works out badly for everyone.

(I'm a librarian, so this comes up a lot in recommending books to people, or figuring out what resources they'll actually use. A really great resource does no good if they're not ready to tackle it, and there are all sorts of really good reasons someone might not be.)

Basically they say for me to dress like the free spirit I am.  Look the part.  They say the pendulums and cards are accoutrements.  I have to go out and leave the house.  Take a yoga class at the gym or something.  I have to make it possible for people to find me.  They say if I do these things, the right people will find me.  I will have work.  I will get to help people.

I have dumped on people during a faith healing.  What they really wanted to know was if I had "IT" and the Spirit wanted them to know I indeed did.

My oldest daughter thought she had not received the gift from me but I was suspicious so I had her try to do a faith healing on me.  She has "it" all right.  But she can not feel it pass through her yet.  She blew my doors off and didn't know she did it. The energy is hot when its like that.  She healed me recently and the energy was so cold even her hands were chilly after.  I explained it can be both, hot or cold depending on the need. Part of it being that cold was for her learning to feel it I'm sure.

Mostly I have only what I need.  My other daughter was sad she didn't blow my doors off as well, but I explained it is supposed to only be what is needed. She was following her sister, so I would not have need of having my doors blown off twice in one day.
