If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

A Powerful Wish Spell?
« on: April 13, 2012, 01:16:03 pm »
At the new moon night, I will do my first spell and I want a wish spell. I searched through the internet but none of the spells I found seems to me useful. This will be my first spell. So I want it as powerful as it is. I know, it depends on me that the spell will work or not. My knowladge is enough for this kinda simple spells, I think but I have no experience yet. I want it work. I believe it will work if it is TRUE. I wanted to ask you. Do you know a working, true and useful wish spell for beginners? :)

My style of Witchcraft is experimental and practical, and I don't work with complex rituals, long incantations or deities. So, that may not be the style of magic you want. Even so, these are a couple of spells I find useful:

Get three long-ish pieces of string or wool (maybe in colours significant to your goals). While you plait them, focus on your intent and sending it into the plait. If the wish is something pertaining to you personally, you can make the plait into a bracelet or anklet to keep the magic with you. Otherwise, dispose of it in a way you see fit - maybe bury it, tie it to a tree branch etc. to disperse the magic into the world.

If you've searched for spells on the internet, you've probably already met a variation or several on the candle magic theme. But just in case you haven't, here is mine: Write your wish on a piece of paper. You might find that writing in a 'magical alphabet' helps you to concentrate on what you're writing, though unless you have at least a passing knowledge of one it might just make the spell difficult to cast. Light a tealight, and burn the piece of paper with the wish on, and visualise the smoke symbolising the spell, moving upwards and outwards into the universe. Leave the candle to burn out if you can.

I hope I was at least a little bit helpful!

A "wish spell" is pretty general, perhaps for a first spell you might want to try a spell more closely aimed at what you want.

Okay for example if I want to achieve a tool that is abuout witchcraft and I need, and if I can't find it all over my city, what can I do? I think a wish spell is good for it. It was just an example. Candle magick is good for my aim so?

What's the tool? (Because there are lots of options, depending on your specific needs.)

And for that kind of question, I'm not sure I'd go for a spell of any kind, as much as another solution - divination, perhaps, or more learning and reading, or something else.

I don't generally use other people's spells. In the same regards, I don't share mine. Spell's are better when constructed by the individual. Do some research, if your wish is to come by a better job search what colors, candles, elements, go along with job gain, money and luck. Words can be tricky, everyone feels like they need to have the perfect lyrics to go with their spells, mine tend to be simple and repetative while spellworking.

Something simple for a new job, I might light a green candle, write my wish on a piece of paper, light the paper and drop it in a jar. The jar may have a few different money and luck items in it. (non-flammable items in this case) Then I would sprinkle some money and luck herbs inside it (I'm pretty big on herbs) and seal the jar while saying a few words, and put it somewhere I would see and think of often, like a window sill in my kitchen.

This isn't how everyone would do it, but it's personal to each individual. Just do your research and find what fits for you. :)

I personally wouldn't do a spell to find a tool either. I would research more about the tool, maybe look online, or see if it could be substituted with something else.

Ok, seconding everyone else here. I personally wouldn't do a spell to get a tool I needed. Which tool is it? There's probably some things that can be substituted, so if you tell us what tool we can probably recommend some possible replacements.

I don't know if I would call it a wish spell, but if you want an object you currently have no access to I would do a calling for it.  Put an image of the thing you want in the middle of a design (ring, triangle, lemniscate if it has more than one part, etc.) of related things, and use whatever method you find powerful to call it to you.

Meditation, visualization, burning candles for power or speed, supplication, burning aromatic herbs or scattering them over the working - whatever method you have found effective in the past or just want to try out to figure out which one works.  There is no saying you have to stick to one way.  Spells fail, but you can always rearrange and try again.

There is a misunderstanding. :) It was just an example. It could be another wish. ANY  wish. I am just looking for a wish spell. Now I think the candle magick is suitable enough for it?

Oh! Yeah, we all got a bit confused there. In that case, yes, I find that candle magic is good for most things.

Perhaps some of the confusion could be sorted out if we take a step back.

When I do magic, I don't start with "I want to do magic". I start with what I'm looking to accomplish. I don't do spells unless there's a specific reason they might help.

So, when I was job hunting, I did magical work to help me out - but I also did a lot of other things (like looking at ads, writing cover letters, improving my skills, etc.) I did magic to support that (by helping me focus on what mattered most to me in a new job, on helping bring opportunities that would be a good fit for me to my attention, that kind of thing.)

It may also be that what would help you right now would be something that's a magical act - but not necessarily a spell. Meditation, guided visualisation, ritual to help focus and center your direction could all be good options, but they're not spells.

So, again: what is it you're actually looking to accomplish? How do you think a spell is going to help you do that? Once you've answered those questions, then you can figure out the best kind of spell to use, and the best tools to use it. Candle magic is lovely (and quite flexible) but there are some kinds of tasks it doesn't work as well for, where others might be better.
