New lurker :-)
« on: July 21, 2018, 10:51:42 am »
Hi-
I'm here to read and learn. I'm personally undecided about my own religion, but am an ex-Christian.

I'm a sociologist by trade, and I have an interest in minority religions (like those associated with neo-paganism) and the challenges faced by their members when they live in a majority Christian society.

Eventually I'd like to write an academic article about this; if you'd like to contribute or be interviewed for it, just send me a PM.

Thanks,
Orbit

Welcome to the Cauldron! It seems we have a lot in common; I'm also an ex-Christian, and I am a Historian and an Anthropologist who is also fascinated by religion. I have committed myself to a religious path, though, so that's a difference between us.
"The worshippers of the gods go to them; to the manes go the ancestor-worshippers; to the Deities who preside over the elements go their worshippers; My devotees come to Me." ... "Whichever devotee desires to adore whatever such Deity with faith, in all such votaries I make that particular faith unshakable. Endowed with that faith, a votary performs the worship of that particular deity and obtains the fruits thereof, these being granted by Me alone." - Sri Krishna
