If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

New and a little nervous about this
« on: August 27, 2012, 12:10:48 am »
I'm new to the the whole Pagan thing.  I'm still not sure whether I consider myself one, but I want more information.  I'd like to gain some information from actual human beings rather than a book, and hopefully contribute something decent to the forum.  My main interest lies in the Celtic God, Lugh.  So, there it is, rambling and certainly not to the point, much like 19th Century Russian Realist literature.
Until, on Vinegar Hill, the fatal conclave.
Terraced thousands died, shaking scythes at cannon.

Welcome. There's no need to rush into calling yourself anything, including pagan. Just take your time and look around. :)

Lugh is amazing, if a little abrupt in his communication style at times. Has he done the "random thunder out of nowhere when you're onto something" to you yet? I know of at least two other TC people he's done that to, other than me.

welcome, its certainly understandable that you might be hesitant to label yourself, trust that you will wake one day knowing whether it fits you or not.

Actually the random thunder thing is what piqued my interest in Lugh.  It's happened a few times, and twice overseas.  Once in Iraq, and once again in Afghanistan.  I was a Military Policeman, and we don't much believe in coincidence.  And it's happened a few times since I've been out of the Marine Corps.

Yep, that's him. My worship's pretty casual--he's more of a spiritual "drinking buddy" than a patron, and my offerings of Jack and Coke are far from traditional, but like most of the Celts, he's got his expectations of me.

Welcome to TC!

Like you, I have a strong interest in Lugh as well, mainly for His knack as a jack of all trades. He definitely has a more casual feel to him, and I definitely associate him with storms.

Hey, awesome! I just did a blog post on him last night, and I've been writing and researching him a bit since just before this Lughnasadh. He's good people.
Maker, though the darkness comes upon me,
I shall embrace the light. I shall weather the storm.
I shall endure.
What you have created, no one can tear asunder.
