insert generic greeting here
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:16:15 am »
Hello.

I hate doing introductions, I never really know what to put, I always feel like I'm either being to generic or to specific. But I guess that's a common problem.

I suppose the important things- I'm adult, married, have a kid, raise rabbits (as pets) and do wildlife rescue. No current critters, the most recent have been a squirrel (the coolest animal I've ever raised, I was sad when she went out on her own) and robin. We live out in the country so they can be released from the house.

As far as religion/path/whatever you'd like to call it, I started out with pretty traditional 'kitchen witchcraft' when I was about 13. Since then I've experimented with pretty much everything I can get my hands on and cobbled together a working system.

I'm not particularly religious, I don't really 'worship' any particular deity. I've always seen magic as being a natural function of the universe. I believe (from experience) that various things we call gods exist, but I tend to see them as just being creatures that exist on a different plane that can influence things here more easily/with more power than I can, but not as beings that created the universe/life/humans.

I used to practice consistently, then a couple years ago I had some issues and was put on medications. I realized in spring that at this point they were really doing more harm than good, they pretty much killed my creativity (as I'm a freelance artist this was not good) and caused some relationship issues with side effects, so I went off of them.

It's been about 6 months and I still feel like I'm having a real hard time recovering. I was really thinking differently and it ultimately made me unhappy, I realized recently that I need to get back the structure I had when I was practicing consistently and am trying to get back to that place.

I suppose that's pretty much it.

Hello.

Welcome to The Cauldron! That was a great into, especially for someone who hates doing them.
