Hi all! New to The Cauldron but not to paganism

When I first discovered paganism my world exploded. I read ravenously about Wicca for a year and a day. A few months in I bought a silver pentacle and promised myself that Wicca was my path and would always be no matter what because I knew the deepest truth.

I was twelve.
I was quite wrong and very fluffy.

Having come a LONG way from that, I realise that that new world opening up before me was worth getting excited about (if not exactly the way I expressed it).  I was raised in a very atheistic environment that was not intolerant but sometimes derisive about religion. These days my motley, intuitive version of pagan spirituality is a deep and vital part of my life.


The big things for me are animals, sacred places and symbolism in stories and art. I also like herbs, cooking, walking, some magic, ritual and shamanism. I want to read more about Chaos magic and Western esotericism when I get around to it. I have a skeptical streak and I prefer sources with my history but I’m willing to be confused.


I’ve been disconnected from the pagan community for several years but recently I’ve wanted to get a better idea of the history of neopaganism and Wicca, and I feel it’s time to talk to pagans and associated people again. I’m liking the atmosphere of this board so far, so hi everyone!
