Hello to all!
« on: April 07, 2018, 10:06:43 am »
Hi, everyone!

Our names are Mike and Tash, which is probably made clear by our username. We're a couple from the small (and often wet) rock otherwise known as the UK! While Tash has been a practising Wiccan for many years, I am only just embarking upon my journey of enlightenment. I may have made it sound 'cheesy', but I'd like to learn more about Paganism; and where better to do it than an online forum such as this?

Anyway, please feel free to say hello (to either one of us, we rarely bite!) and we look forward to hearing from you all! :)

Blessings to all,

Mike and Tash

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you for the warm welcome! Or, as they'd say in Essen, "Vielen dank!" I (Mike) have spent a little while learning German, but it's a difficult nut to crack!

I was raised in south Germany, when I came to Essen I also had to learn some new words, they don't all speak text book German there, you're good if you understood anything ;)

"The worshippers of the gods go to them; to the manes go the ancestor-worshippers; to the Deities who preside over the elements go their worshippers; My devotees come to Me." ... "Whichever devotee desires to adore whatever such Deity with faith, in all such votaries I make that particular faith unshakable. Endowed with that faith, a votary performs the worship of that particular deity and obtains the fruits thereof, these being granted by Me alone." - Sri Krishna

Given the manner in which the online platform "Duolingo" teaches German, I would assume that all of the German that I know would sound exactly that, 'text-book'. It took me ages to understand that not everyone in Germany EXPECTS to be addressed formally, although I'm always careful to use formal introductions just in case. I'll bet (as in English) there's an older generation out there who might be taken aback if I just rocked up saying "Hallo! Wie geht's?" XD

Haha, that's not bad! Teenagers greet each other with "Hey Alter! Wat geht?" around here. ;)
