Hello everyone
« on: August 18, 2020, 10:56:51 pm »
Well I'm back after a few years.   ;D lol So much has went on in my life lately. Anyways I'm in the broom closet mostly in real life. I was lucky to even get to know some local Pagans in my area (a Hibernian Pagan and a lady who worships Lilith). I've considered myself a Classical Pagan since about 2016. Lately I've rejected the belief that the Gods intervene in our lives. It's hard coming out to people in real life; not just cause of what happened to my grandfather in 2013 but also because of what happened to me in Toronto a year later while coming back from the UK. I used to be Wiccan when I was a teen and still hold on to some elements of Witchcraft I learned from those years. My hobbies are primarily C++(still learning) and poetry(been doing that for a long time). I write a lot of my grimoire in Latin, albeit terribly lol. I'm also a little bit of a history buff.

Welcome back, Helix109! Do you care to share what happened to your grandfather and, later, you?
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

Well I can't say exactly what happened. I can say however that my grandpa (who is a practising Wiccan) was accused of something he didn't do years ago. He didn't go to jail but he got put on house arrest for months and lost his job because of it. As for me, well, when I was on a bus bound for Calgary one time, these kids harassed me calling me a devil worshiper(which is why I don't wear pentagrams or rocks outside of my home anymore) and they threatened to take a picture of me. Another time I was slandered by someone for again wearing a pentagram. They said I yelled obscene things at them and threatened them  ::) which never happened. I used to know Pagans over a decade ago when I was homeless who had a hard time getting into homeless shelters which is why I'm not so open about it anymore. I haven't had anything happen to me since I started keeping this a secret. Chat rooms and online forums have been my thing for a few years now as a means to communicate with other people like me. There aren't any major groups around where I live unfortunately.

Sorry to hear this. Here's hoping things are smoother from now on,

Welcome! I am also recently emerged from the broom closet so to speak. I worked in a very conservative manufacturing company for 10 years (here in South Dakota, US) and they barely responded well to me just bringing in lattes in the morning. So I tucked everything about myself away for 10 years and made money. It's draining. I've switched up my career - work at home now - so I've just been sprinkling it back into my life. Immediate family thinks it's odd, but they don't mind odd.

I'm also learning programming! But I came at it from a data analyst point of view, so am working with Python atm. Welcome welcome!
