Hi everyone,

I'm Triskell, 21 yo, female student from France, though most of my ancestors (father and mother sides) are from the Netherlands.

I figured it would be much easier for me to browse through this forum if I registered, so here I am. And it might be nice to chat with similar-minded folks.

A bit of background? I was raised in a non-practicing Catholic family (though I went to a private Catholic school), but I never fully adhered to the Christian creed, even though it deeply fascinated me and I voluntarily went to visit churches, monasteries and whatnot.
There usually is one "marginal" member of the family, that's my Grandpa, who, as early as I can remember, taught me and my brother that we come from Odin, and gave us books on shamanism, Norse and Celtic mythology, etc.
We loved that idea but for us it was a rather nice story so never saw more into it, nor decided to worship Norse Gods, even though we found them fascinating.
But culturally I have always been more attracted to the Celts (because the Celtic influence is so much deeper in France and one thing leading to another, I've become a huge Celtic music and Celtic art enthusiast, without knowing much about the mythology).

Fun fact: a few months ago, after years of practicing meditation focused on "past-life regression", I've managed to get a "vision"/result that really troubled me.

It needs to be said that I usually am so open minded that I can't make up my mind about anything because I accept all the possibilities, and tend to think that I deeply lack of imagination. So I was quite surprised to have such vivid images and feelings. The feelings I experienced are what tells me it was real, because I have never felt so many "alien" emotions of deep sadness and fear and cold and something like being in the dark but falling even deeper into that darkness and feeling it in the deep of your stomach and your forehead.
That was such a strange experience and I still cannot shake the feeling and always have goosebumps when I think/talk about it (which I've done only three times now, writing this here being the third time).

Ah yes I forgot to mention what that vision was about. It was about a young man (I don't know precisely how young he was, but I would say in his twenties maybe?), I couldn't see what he looked liked because I was walking in his shoes, and this young man was a monk in a monastery near the sea, and I don't even know which country or which language was talked, or the year. He spent most of his days copying the Bible and wished he could instead draw illustrations like the Book of Kells that he deeply admired (I don't even know whether he had seen it, heard about it, or seen very crude reproductions). And he was cold in this monasteries because of where it was situated (was it an island? or just near the sea on coast?), and he was sad because it wasn't the kind of life he wanted to live and he didn't feel particularly pious, and he was deeply scared. (It is a strange feeling, being scared, sensing the fear of something you don't know anything about).
And at some point his monasteries got attacked (I'd say by Vikings judging by the style of clothes, and historical accuracy, but I could be wrong), and it was complete chaos and (to spare you the details I'll fast-forward), he got hit by a heavy chalice /something heavy and much shinier than wood or stone that is for sure, and he hit the stone floor and then *fade to black* (literally).

(have I bored you yet? still reading? still believing what I'm writing? it's okay if you don't, I know many people who wouldn't, but I believe what I felt/saw so I'm at peace with myself at least, anyway...)

So with such baggage, I am still trying to get to know more about that fellow, and if those feelings were real, was I that man in a past life? If so, could that explain my fascination with the Celtic culture? Hence me wanting to know more about Celtic mythology.
But, with all the tales my grandfather told me about the Norse pantheon, and that our family is kin of Odin, even though it still very much makes me smile to think about it, I still want to know more about Norse mythology.

One thing is for sure, I am not a Christian but have always felt and considered myself pagan, with that very deep connection to nature and its cycles, and I want to start being more focused on my spiritual practice and start worshipping properly the Gods and Goddesses (though in my head it's still pretty much summed up by Duotheism of a Mother Goddess and a Father Gos, but I want to know more and be more accurate).
