Greetings from a College Pagan! :)
« on: August 02, 2011, 12:26:57 pm »
Hello everyone!

My name is Dylan (not my birth name, but the name I have chosen to go by in my renewed spiritual effort. I'll talk about it more later) and I'm a twenty-year-old witch dude living in northcentral Pennsylvania. I'm entering my sophomore year of college pursuing an undergraduate degree in history with a minor in women's studies.

I have a speckled spiritual history for only being on this earth for twenty years, so I'll just give the spark notes. I began exploring Neopaganism around eleven or twelve when I mysteriously found a copy of Celtic Magic by D.J. Conway in my garage. I read it front to back and was utterly fascinated with every single word. It would be many years before I would realize that a lot of the history Conway presented was utter bollocks, but alas, that it is a different thread! :)

My journey would lead me many places. I explored Christianity in my middle teen years but eventually walked away from it. As my sexuality developed, I continually found that I didn't have a place in my church family. So, I turned to the God and Goddess. I wasn't done yet, though! I wandered through Neo-Druidry (ADF) and found that to be an amazing path that I was absolutely not ready for at the time. Due to various pushes and pulls, I ended up in the Kemetic Orthodox faith these past two years. It was a time of wonderful spiritual growth and development, but I ultimately left just this past week due to personal clashes in vision.

The common thread through all of these years of spiritual exploration is Wicca. I never stopped studying it regardless of which faith I was currently practicing, and I am super attracted to exploring the God and Goddess more than ever. I love Welsh mythology (my handle is in reverence to Dylan, the second son of Arianrhod), Norse mythology, Kemetic/Egyptian mythology, and Greek mythology.

I'm a voracious knitter, crocheter, and I'm starting to learn to sew and quilt. I enjoy reading and drinking tea (preferably at the same time, with a bit of patchouli in the background). Meryl Streep is my favorite actress of all time. I've been in a relationship for nearly three years and am absolutely in love with that boy. :)

I'm excited to jump into these forums! :0
