So, this video shows two Christian girls attempting to convert a Hindu girl to their religion. That, of course, it not the problem with the content of the video. Rather, the problem is that they are super racist, and apparently have absolutely no understanding of geography. I don't even understand what they are trying to say here half the time, and the other half the time, they are making objectively false statements. For example "India is like, an African Country, in Asia."

I don't understand how people in the modern world can be so wrong and uninformed. I mean, the US education system covers geography, world religions, and other relevant topics thoroughly.

Endowed with that faith, a votary performs the worship of that particular deity and obtains the fruits thereof, these being granted by Me alone." - Sri Krishna

I could barely stand to watch this video. While I would like to say the US education system is obviously worse than it was when I was in high school (1971-1975), I remember quite a few people my age then who seemed just as ignorant about geography, history, religion, etc.

I am considerably younger than you, and I come from an uneducated part of the country (Kentucky), and I still learned these things in school. I don't think the education system is at fault; these things are taught. Rather, I think that some people refuse to learn, for which I blame the parents, the community, and society at large. If a child want's to learn about the world, the system doesn't *stop* them, but if they wan't to be willfully ignorant, the system also doesn't stop that, and often times encourages it.

Parents, politicians, teachers, religious leaders (protestant pastors, mostly, in the Southern USA), and other adults should encourage young people to take educations seriously and become responsible citizens. Even if you are conservative, bigoted, and/or a religious fundamentalist (not to say that all southerners are like this!), it *still* behooves you to make sure your children know where freaking INDIA is located on a map...

...considering, you know, that it's the second most populous country on earth, has nuclear weapons, and has huge economic power globally. You can hold backwards views, that doesn't mean you should encourage stupidity and anti-intellectualism. That only serves to hurt you and your children in the long term.
